Publisher's summary

To be spiritually awake is to deeply feel your connection with the whole of life. The One of Us is an exploration of this sacred connection as it expresses through two human partners. In their first full-length audio-learning program, Adyashanti and Mukti present six sessions to help each of us - whether preparing for or currently in a relationship - to realize and honor this connection, to protect it, and to begin to move, speak, and act in alignment with the love that lives all of us.

A relationship based in truth and supported by love: What if a successful relationship was not about getting needs met, but allowing each other the freedom to be who you are? What if the sole agenda of a partnership were to offer the greatest expression of love in that moment? Drawing from their own marriage and their years of teaching, Adyashanti and Mukti share what they consider to be the foundational attitudes and skills for a relationship "based in truth and supported by love". Together they discuss the shift from our conditioned, "me-centered" paradigm to a radically new way of relating not only to each other but to the entirety of our experience.

"Recognizing our connectedness of spirit - and becoming a living expression of that connectedness - that's what The One of Us is all about," explain Adyashanti and Mukti. Join them in these inspirational sessions to begin to bring forth the fullness of light and love that your partnership is waiting to unfold. Program highlights:

  • How love gives us access to truths beyond egoic structures
  • Who is "us" anyway? The paradox of autonomy and no separation
  • Communicating from your core outward
  • Sincerity, patience, and intention: three keys to freeing ourselves from conditioned thinking and behavior
  • The void within as the doorway to awakening
  • Realizing our power of choice
  • And more

Layers of meaning will unfold

I first listened to this a few years ago, and at the time I thought I understood what they were speaking to. I now see that there was only a deep echo of understanding, and that echo kept me coming back. As the last few years have unfolded, and an internal process with it, I’ve continued to revisit The One of Us periodically, and deeper layers have continued to flower as I’ve had the ears to hear them. These pointers are beautiful and simple, albeit a seemingly Herculean task for any ego. Thank you Adya and Mukti, for pointing to that which is always present and undivided, each in your own perfect way.

Mukti and Adyashanti's beautiful guidance!

Words can't do it justice. Absolutely beautiful! Mukti's feminine quality lends countless benefits to her and Adya's pathless path.

At last, some real answers!

This is a beautiful compilation of wisdom and insights into the fundamental issue of human relationships. Relationship to oneself, relationship to a partner, relationship to others and to the world we live in. It opened my eyes not only to the importance of relationship but also to the truth and beauty of its possibilities. Difficulties dissolve when we start getting honest with ourselves.

Lacking in merit, not an engaging presentation.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This basically sophomoric treatment of being in relationship is a waste of time. The authors are self indulgent and overly identified with their own simple minded and transparent projections. There are so many other approaches to this subject, so do yourself a favor and toss this one back, it has not grown to maturity.

Half of the book is great

Mukti just doesn't have the same ability to articulate what she knows. Looking for the right words she makes long pauses and then the meaningful words still don't come. So it just wasn't worth waiting for her to communicate something, in the last two two chapters I ended up first playing her part at a faster speed to get through the pauses and then just skipped her parts completely. The rest of the book is great. In fact makes me appreciate even more how eloquent Adyashanti is.
