How I wish I would of had this tool in my arsenal a long time ago. I WAS naturally an axious person, who spent too much time in the future and dragging out the past. I have lsited to this audiobook every day since I purchased it. Now when my mind tends to go arry, something in my brain triggers a response that will bring me back to the present moment. Something which it was capable of doing in the past. I love my life even more so now that I can control the anxiety and uneeded trips down the bad memory lane. Thank you so much Craig, Audible, and all those that gave good reviews which is the reason I selected this book.

Informative, Cognitive, Empathetic
Beck Diet, because of its focus on the brain and what you are thinking. I have no idea if the authors are in any way related but I have been curious.
He is empathetic, knowing how panic feels. There's nothing worse than having someone try to help you having zero clue of what you are feeling. It's a comfort to know he's been through the same.
Yes, it isn't that long which fueled me in the first place to just sit and listen.
I'm not going to say this is a cure all. I haven't completed listening to the end 10 minute track for 21 days.
However, I will say that his explanations of our brains way of coping has made me understand at a much greater level and I admit, I have been a bit calmer than my normal anxious state.
I found some of the information in this recording to be invaluable, such as being aware of your conscious and sub conscious mind, however there are one or two sections that actually increased my anxiety due to his detailed and repetitive description of his own anxiety. His words after this section did not do enough to ease my anxiety enough to make me want to listen to this recording again.
All in all he tells a great story and there is some valuable information in it, but, for me personally, the negatives outweigh the positives.

It really worked and helped me a lot I listen to it everyday before I go to bed.
Craig has the voice you crave in an audio book like this, and that really does make a huge difference. The peace/happiness/love and the persuasion (which I'm sure he "is" the master :P ) that hardly would you find elsewhere.
Add to that the very simple yet deep and detailed explanation of the material that makes it easy to grasp and does make sense. Since I was a teenager I didn't believe in religions and God, my dad was an atheist as well, but it took me quite a while until I come to the understanding of spirituality. I have been studying the law of attraction and the related material for a few years, I have a mentor on the topic and after having studied quite a few sources, I only wish I had come to this author a long time ago...but again, as Craig says in all his books, especially this and the "the GOD Enigma", you have to be ready to receive it and when the time is right your prayer is answered.
A must have, along with "the God Enigma".

Spoiler alert: Don't think about the past; don't worry about the future. That's the Now Method. Feel cured? Yeah, me neither.
(Of course being 'now' is great and extremely important, but I'll bet you know that even without wasting a credit on this book.)
This was a great resource as a reminder to living in the present. I recommended pairing this brief story with one that provides more depth and application to being present. I enjoyed reading Dare: The New Way to End Anxiety and Stop Panic Attacks by Barry McDonagh.
I really like that it was from the perspective of someone who actually has suffered from anxiety / panic. it was beneficial to me to hear exactly what is going on physically mentally in words even though I know what's going on it just helps to hear it. the chapter 14 listening exercise is tremendous if one can stay with it for the 21 day.
Suffering from anxiety my whole life, this book has really helped me try & change the way I think. As a sufferer from anxiety I could have done without hearing the details he included about his personal anxiety attack experiences, but really it was only a short part of the book & overall I thought it was a Very helpful book!
A must read if you suffer from any type of anxiety, panic attack or depression! Has helped me get centered before situations that previously would cause me to want to hide! It has helped me deal with things without fear, anxiety or panic, and with full peace knowing I will be just fine NOW!
"Original method? Really?"
The essence of Mr Beck's method, and the extent of his revelation, is that depression is caused by habitually looking forward or backward in time. Therefore, dwelling purely in the present will yield your cure. Bingo! ALSO - Did You Know - your sub-conscious mind is basically running the show?
Now, is it just me, or does this all sound ever-so familiar? If not, perhaps this recording would be useful to you - or perhaps you would do better looking at Eckhart Tolle or Carl Jung. Either way, you'll find no further insights in Beck's "original" method. Bit of a nerve, really.
What you DO get however, is a great many anecdotes about the authors' own experience of panic attacks (interesting enough, but not exactly useful), some advice about tapping various parts of one's anatomy to ward off a looming panic attacks, a long Paul McKenna-style guided meditation/relaxation/hypno-whatsit (with lashings of washy "New Age" synthesizer), several plugs for the authors other work and some disclaimers at the start (a particular highlight). And that's about it.
Not to say this won't work for you. If all this sounds appealing, it might. And Beck's method may even inspire you to endure 21 days of washy synths...
