What does it take to create your New American Dream?

Suze Orman, the woman millions of Americans have turned to for financial advice, says it’s time for a serious reconsideration of the American Dream - what promise it still holds, what aspects are in need of revision, and how it must be refashioned to fit our lives so that we can once again have faith that our hard work will pay off and that a secure and hopeful future is within our reach. In nine electrifying chapters, Orman delivers a master class on personal finance for this pivotal moment in time. She addresses every aspect of the American Dream - home, family, career, retirement. She teaches us that in order to create lasting security we must learn to stand in our truth. We must recognize, embrace, and be honest about what is real for us today and allow that understanding to inform the choices we make.

The New American Dream is not the things we accumulate, says Orman, but the confidence that comes from knowing that which we’ve worked so hard for cannot be taken away from us. In The Money Class, Orman teaches us how to take control over our present - right here, right now - in order to build the future of our dreams.

Whether navigating the complicated mix of money and family, offering the most comprehensive retirement resource available today, or delivering a bracing dose of reality when it comes to recalibrating our expectations and our goals, Orman educates us with her signature no-nonsense approach and laser-like clarity. She empowers us to live a life of integrity and honesty that will create an enduring legacy for future generations - a New American Dream that lies in truth, security, financial freedom, and peace of mind.

Great Book, but I wish Suze was doing the reading

What made the experience of listening to The Money Class the most enjoyable?

I have been a big fan of Suze's for years. I have listened to almost all of her books, sometimes over and over again and I watch her show on CNBC. I really liked this book, however, I wish Suze had narrated it herself like she has done for her previous books. The personal stories didn't have the same impact for me without Suze's voice behind them.

Very informative, more so and Dave Ramsey.

I just finished the Monday class via Audible‘s. I learned a lot however there was a lot of information to take in. Sometimes I stopped and took notes. And frequently I discussed specific topics with my husband. We actually put some ideas into effect, creating a eight month emergency fund and reducing the percentage of high growth stock we currently owned. Before I listen to this book I listened to Dave Ramsey’s latest Book which I did not find nearly as informative. I also found the way he spoke to his audience condescending.

Informative, Well Written Guide

What made the experience of listening to The Money Class the most enjoyable?

Suze's unique way of approaching money management really resonates with me. I do wish Suze had narrated the audiobook...however, as the book progressed, I found myself realizing Nancy Linari's voice is quite similar to Suze's and at times sounds just like her! It was an enjoyable listen from start to finish.

Horrible Narration

Once you are used to hearing Suze normally, having this person narrate was murder. It was super long and boring.

Great read!

I enjoyed how she talked every financial problems or concerns that could arise from unemployment to being employeed, from renting to becoming a homeowner. She really discusses living within your means and living your truth. This book has changed people lives! I only hope to have the same impact.

Great information as always from Suze Orman.

This like many other of her books and lessons is highly beneficial. This may take a second listen to fully grasp and implement some of the teachings. Take notes and follow through.
