I started listening to NDW while recovering from a serious concussion and found that his message has and continues to help me unpack the deeper layers of trauma and old early childhood programming that no longer serve me. The Heart of Truth has given me new tools to reemerge not as a victim of this incident, but as a more whole, aware, loving, kind and awake human being. I will surely return to it again and again on my healing journey.
Very powerful. Very practical. Lots of A-ha!moments throughout. My favourite.. 'Be-Do-Have'. Worth the money, it's something I will revisit again and again, especially the part about money...enjoy!
I would not be so sure my conversations with God are just that. They may well be conversations with myself thinking it's God. Also, Neale's marital track record is a red flag for his truths regarding relationships. When an audience participant asked Neale if he should allow his wife to experiment with infidelity, Neale didn't oppose the idea, providing some of the worst information related to marital trust and respect. I've listened to Christian speakers with lifetime happy marriages provide much different information related to this and other topics, and it rings of greater truth. Neale also puts down religions, which is the way to go today to attract a self-oriented culture wanting to feel good about anything we do. Neale has hit that feel-good button so many are deceived into following today. I feel he has some good points, but overall, I think he can mislead more than lead. He mentioned his greatest gift over his lifetime has been his writing and communicating. He proves it by making a lot of untruth sound like the opposite, and doing so in a charming way.
The most interesting aspect of this story is that the audience actually believes Neale has had a conversation with God. He makes people with problems feel accepted and transparent, which is what we all should do. It doesn't however, make him the ultimate bearer of truth. Many throughout history had much greater understanding of truth than this author. Neale obviously appears to be a caring person to his audience, and I'm sure that alone wins respect for him. I would however, not extend that same respect for his teachings.
He has a very strong communication gift, making the listener feel he has a genuine inside line to God and ultimate truth. It's much like a great actor convincing us about his character. His performance and communication gifts far outshine his wisdom, so much so that it's easy to buy into a lot of his mentality if not careful.
I wouldn't purchase this again if I had it to do over. Neale's concepts are not so much related to enlightenment as to self-delusion related to actual truth. His compassionate persona softens the listener's objectivity to test Neale's teachings. He definitely means well, and is enjoyed by the many who are misled by no right and wrong, just your right or wrong. That's always great until you're on the receiving end.
Not many self help books, motivational speakers, and new age religions have very good or even clear answers... This one is a heavy hitter that doesn't shy away from getting straight to the point of all our endless life's greatest questions and mysteries, ie. "What's the meaning of life" or "who am I?"
If you need a positive change in your life and want REAL advice/direction , (and if we look around I think we can all be honest for a minute and realize how crapy the world really is; it could use a lot of help too.) this book will deliver, I've already started to read his other writings & books now that I've come across this book.
-Endless gratitude for having the courage to say what I have always felt, thank you for writing this book and giving directions for those of us who need it a little more than others.
I would recommend this audio book to everyone I know. It changed my outlook on life. It brought me peace in a troubled world. I no longer beat myself up for not being perfect.
So easy to listen to & take in. Neale DW is an excellent speaker: Entertaining, funny and full of wisdom, this did not disappoint. If you've read the Conversation books there is some repetition but it is good to be reminded. Now off to choose another audio book by him 😀
