What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

A must have for any aspiring gentleman

This book is a wonderful resource on the much neglected side of the ideal gentleman, the "Gentlemanly Virtues" Without virtue, etiquette and politeness is just empty form. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to any aspiring gentleman.....

Great book scarred by terrible narration

I loved this book as much as I possibly could considering the narration.

Not that the narrator sounds terrible, which he does, but also that, due to the style of the book, while listening, you cannot decipher if it is the actual writer "speaking" or a quote or reading from one of the philosophers of great writers.

Makes for a difficult follow.
Sadly, this hurt the overall experience.
Content was excellent though.

Good points put forward

They were done so with excerpts from famous books. However there are some points that I did not see how they quite fit.

Best advice in the last 3000 years.

Man-up son.
Only the hard, only the strong. But these were no knuckle dragging brutes.
Every quote a nugget. Every man a diamond.
