Horrendous narration

I wish Dr. Barkley would have narrated the book as he is a wonderful orator. Regardless, I cannot stand the way the narrator’s delivery; the tone of the book is completely off. Even if you aren’t familiar with Dr. Barkley’s vocal delivery, there is a clear disconnect between the the narrator and the information.

hang in there

The first 3rd was really tough to get through, but when it came to the intervention and concrete coaching it was much better.

Mom of ADD child

This book was the most comprehensive and up to date one I've found. As a physician myself, I appreciate the scientific references and clinical advice.

Barkley is an ADHD guru. book is dry but good.

The beginning is pretty bleak and depressing if you have a child with ADHD. the second half goes into behavior treatment parents can take on so the tone of the book starts to improve. our psychiatrist mentioned that Barkley isn't strength based so you'll see more punitive and strict methods.

Very compatible narration

I heard it two times and a few more times are in my plan.Subject material and tone are quite compatible with what goes on with human emotions for the innocent youth facing consequences of a disorder that prevents their cognitive success

Repetitive

They should have edited the text because they repeat the same informtion over and over.

A must-have in your quest to help your ADHD child

Great book giving a thorough overview and explanation on ADHD in school-going children, the treatments, drugs used and addressing any concerns. Every parent of an ADHD child should own this book! (And every clinician treating them!)

Step one towards understanding ADHD Kids

This book should be your step one towards understanding ADHD. My daughter psychologist was impressed by the amount of information I had in very short time about ADHD and ADHD kids, thanks to Russell Barkley.
