Acerca de esta escucha
The title says it all - that, and your reaction of clicking through to find out the punch line of what most people think must be a joke. The best sex you ever had? After 40? Even living in the Viagra age, that's quite a claim.
It's a claim that Calvin A. Colarusso, M.D, master clinician, backs up in his latest book, while explaining the biology and psychology of the middle years. Believe the myth that sexual function always decreases after you hit the big four-zero? Not true! This text guides you through the joys of intimacy you couldn't begin to understand in your teens, the benefits of sex within a long-term committed relationship, and healthy adaptations as our bodies change and the years pass.
Sex After Forty: The Best You Ever Had delves into the true character of middle-years sexuality and will provide you with the information you need to experience exactly what the title promises.
The book includes the following topics:
- Developmental considerations as they relate to sexual and emotional intimacy
- The health benefits of a happy, sexual marriage
- Dealing with distractions
- Accepting changes while spicing it up!
- The fallacy of expected impotence

Statistics show that 50 percent of what determines divorce is genetic temperament. And, if you are one of the 20 percent of people who are born highly sensitive, the risk of an unhappy relationship is especially high. Your finely tuned nervous system, which picks up on subtleties and reflects deeply, would be a romantic asset if both you and your partner understood you better. But without that understanding, your sensitivity is likely to be making your close relationships painful and complicated.

If you think sex education is still about the birds and the bees, think again. And it's not about science either. In her shocking exposé, You're Teaching My Child What?, Dr. Miriam Grossman rips back the curtain on sex education today, exposing a sordid truth. Today's sex ed programs aren't based on science; they're based on liberal lies and politically correct propaganda that promote the illusion that children (yes, children) can be sexually free without risk.

In The Pleasure Gap, Katherine Rowland rejects the idea that women should settle for diminished pleasure; instead, she argues women should take inequality in the bedroom as seriously as we take it in the workplace and understand its causes and effects. Drawing on extensive research and interviews with more than 100 women and dozens of sexual health professionals, Rowland shows that the pleasure gap is neither medical malady nor psychological condition but rather a result of our culture's troubled relationship with women's sexual expression.

Love and marriage are two of the greatest gifts life has to offer, yet too many marriages fail because couples don't fully understand the five stages of relationships. Because most of us have had hurtful experiences in past relationships, often going back to childhood, we develop an inaccurate love map that causes us to get off track when the stresses of life increase.

Book is less than 30 minutes
I was disappointed in the lack of specific information. The book costs the same (1 Credit) as other audible books that are 6-12 hours of listening. I was super disappointed to see I wasted a credit on a book that was twenty-some minutes of very general information. I did not find the information useful or enlightening.

Quality Over Quantity and Enjoying More Than Ever!
I found this book to be helpful and handy now that I’m well over forty and finding that balance between quantity vs. quality. Sex After Forty by Calvin Colanussso does a really good job in helping us all to understand some basic functions and realistic expectations of the “middle years” and how to make the best of them.
The book is short and concise, so it’ll also serve as a great reference book from time to time.
Enjoy, and enjoy better than ever!
