As with all teachings you have to focus on what Gary is talking about. Honestly, the most wonderful part of A Course in Miracles is that its insight is your insight...take some time to listen to Gary...he's easy going and comfortable, a guy you could meet anywhere and talk about anything. Sometimes I wonder how I keep finding these kinds of books, enjoying and learning from them. Well, once again Gary helps reveal the truth of this....Thanks Gary...and to your teachers a thank you also...
As you study the teachings in this book you gradually become a better person. You do not want to say and do the judgemental things you used to say and do. As judgement disappears from your thinking it ceases to create guilt. You begin to see others in a new way and begin recieving a nicer world.
As guilt drops from yourself you begin to feel better about your true self and others. It becomes a circle of release from the past and future creating a now that contains less fear and is much more pleasant.
Many other self help studies though helpful, are paint compared to these teachings. If you really want to help yourself it comes about from sincerely helping others. Things you once thought important will fall away to be replaced by something deep inside that is far better.
If the world followed the teachings talked about in this book there would be no wars, no crime and It would awaken from its nightmare.
This is my favorite of Gary Renard's audio recordings. Even if you've read his books and devoured them, this audio program is worth listening to many times.
Gary shares deeply of his experiences, his perceptions and feelings over the years that he wrote the two books with Arten & Pursah. He shares artfully about his personal growth and transformation.
Over the years of studying A Course In Miracles and engaging in deep spiritual practice, Gary has really come to reveal his authentic self and he is both inspiring and entertaining.
Gary's sense of humor is wry and delightful in this recording. There is instruction and insight that he shares from his own deep experiences. It is well worth the price!
I have listened to a lot of audio books, this one is up there with the best of them. Gary is humerous and puts a new/different perspective on things. At times he had me using his forgiveness prayer on him!!!
A truly serious Course in Miracles student will greatly appreciate this audio book. Not only is it a comfort, but it also encourages exploration and exposition of the more difficult Course passages. So far, I've listened to it six times in the last two weeks.
Gary's style is, well, "himself." And that's the beauty and the most pertinent part of it in my opinion. Course students are far too hard on themselves (including me) because we've learned to understand that we are wrong about everything we see. This leads to the ego telling us that because we are wrong about everything, there's a certain amount of shame involved (or ought to be). Gary is completely and beautifully shameless! He makes it ok for us to be as well.
I also appreciate him taking the time to explain the meaning behind the experiences that people will have when doing the Course. For instance, the meaning of the experience of revelation as well as periods of dizziness/vertigo. I have had these experiences, but did not understand the full significance of them. I didn't understand that perhaps I was further along than I realized, which helped me not to be too hard on myself, but rather to relax and just keep on forgiving and getting that ego undone.
Gary shows himself to be a true ally for Course students. As radical as the Course is, and as much as it promises to lead us to, we need all the help we can get. This audio book is very good help.
I think Gary Renard did a spectacular job on this book considering he had to condense a huge idea into a smaller versioned audio book.
The book is "deep" in thought. You can not do anything else while listening to him or you will miss the whole idea.
It is worth listening to!
I quit listening to this audio about half way through it because I felt I was wasting my time listening to the so many repetitions of the same thing. What he ha said so far in 3+ hours could be brought down to 30 minutes at most, yet he takes much longer going over numerous details again and again and again and....again.
I never tire of listening to this audio book on my mp3 player. Each day something new rings true and I have a new understanding or Ahh-hah moment. What a wonderful treat for A Course of Miracle Students.
Gary Rennard enhances the "Miracles" materials in a most encouraging manner. He highlights the concepts in a way that makes comprehension of an often difficult text, easy.
"Leading to a Courrse in Miracles"
All Gary Renard's books lead to the book 'A Course in Miracles'. He is the open door for the book where many find 'The Course' very difficult to get into. 'Secrets of the Immortal' leads not only to A Course in Miracles (ACIM), but also to Gary's first book 'The Disappearance of the Universe'. Many will find it worthwhile to read both books before ACIM. I did! Don't be put off by the origination of these extraordinary works.
If you have reached a stage of total impasse in your life, where you want to 'give in' you are ready to read these works.
"Entertaining, conversational sharing of truth"
I just love this audio book of the follow up to the Dissappearance of the Universe. Once again read by the author himself, Gary
Renard shares just about the most extraordinary experience that he has in awakening and how he got into studying A Course in Miracles.
This work has an answer to the worlds most ancient and most asked questions around the meaning of existence and why we're all here and so on. He shares in a most natural conversational way with such clarity and simplicity.
I've been studying spiritually for the best part of 20 years and have yet to come across someone who can explain the hidden secrets of these great truths so masterfully as Gary. And the thing is, it feels like I'm in the conversation with him as I listen, like he's talking to me personally - almost as though I'd just phoned him and he's telling me something just like that.
If you're looking for the big existential answers you'll find them here. I love his audio book and just keep listening to it back to back over and over again - I can't get enough of it!
Finally I'll say that Gary's humour is just exquisite. Also extremely entertaining in the most wonderful way.
"Full of self importance and hate of others"
I would never ever try another book by Gary Renard
It hasn't put me off books explaining "A Course in Miracles" which I thought it was when I bought it. However, it has nothing to do with "A Course in Miracles" and is all about Gary Renard and how he is going to save himself and other superior people like himself.
I hated the book, so the performance was irrelevant.
Anger, that such a book promoting self superiority and hatred of others is being sold by Audible.
You should seriously consider removing this book from your catalogue.
"A superb "can opener" for ACIM"
Yes. I have already. This is the kind of programme that each time you listen, you get something else out of it.
The only characters are God and the Ego....I cannot imagine choosing the Ego over God....I would have to be temporarily insane or suffering from sunstroke......
A Course in Miracles is a spiritual masterpiece that can appear daunting and complicated at first glance. Gary's books and material act like a can opener and bring clearly into view the answers to all of life's questions and the nuts and bolts of ACIM. It is worth it's weight in gold and then some.
The key to the lock of A Course in Miracles. The most important book you will ever read.
"Secrets of the immortal"
Shame, this did NOTHING for me at all. I was quite excited to listen to this audio book after hearing the except prior to purchasing it! Big let down. After listening to the very difficult to understand narrator the author started to talk about how much he liked sex, and that was enough for me - I am afraid the promise of the book was better than the book itself. Another wasted month's credit! Sorry Gary, but if I was your school teacher, I would write on your report 'could do better'.
