Great Book!

This was honestly one of my favorite books I read before I had my daughter in July. Though some of her ideas were a little bit harder to implement than I expected, they were still good ideas. I think the author did a great job explaining an alternative "middle of the road" option between the two extreme "attachment" and "cry-it-out" parenting styles.

Her E.A.S.Y. routine really worked for us. We had to work at it at first, but now comes quite naturally. Our daughter is very alert during the day and sleeps well at night. I think the tips we got from this book have a lot to do with that.

Great quick listen

I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend it for sure! Not a huge time commitment... so nothing to lose. Was a little disappointed with the quality of the recording.

need to be able to see charts

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was good to get the basics of what she was teaching, but there are charts in the book that actually help you implement what she is teaching... which you cannot get in the audio book. So there is nothing to reference! Makes it hard to follow.

I'm still in doubt

I still don't know if this should have an unabridged version. I liked it, but did not love it.
Her accent was not one of the worst, but I would have have someone else narrate the book.
I believe the tips presented here are very useful. I have to say I don't know what to believe anymore. She talks about how babies should have a routine and you are the one to impose it, wheareas other authors believe in the baby's free demmand and how they become needy babies if we don't attend their demmands. Maybe this is why I did not love this book, but I do recommend it.

a good framework

good framework for understanding, not a lot of tactics though. audio quality is low, but a commitment to the content will see you through. doesn't have a lot of replayability once you understand the concepts

Great Book, but much less content than the book

Tracy Hogg really knows babies. her gentle approach really helped us with our newborn. This is an abridged version of the book. it is a great start and you will learn a lot, I'm sure, from this audiobook but we also needed the printed version for reference as well. The audiobook gives a good overview and the printed version is great to look up the specific issue you want to know about at the time. get both, they are really helpful (and watch out for her TV show for extra insight).

Even a good refreshers for Grandmas!

I had to get past the lullaby music playing while she spoke initially, but that only lasted a minute or two. She has a strong British accent but I pictured her as Daphne from the show Frasier and it was fine. I liked that she communicated the need to keep calm and talk softly and get to know your baby rather than try to push him or her to perform or meet goals. Don't shake rattles in their faces and generally be aware what it must be like for them. I recommend it for pregnant women and their spouses and Grandmas to be!
