This is for big investments.

If you're only wanting to start small with a rental house or 2, this book is overkill. If you're going big for apt complexes and having partners etc, it's all you.

Very useful and practical.

The title fits the book perfectly. This is a great foundation for someone wanting to start investing in multifamily. Its like a multi unit investing 101 class.

Limited takeaways from this book

If you've spent any time in real estate, you'll most likely find this book redundant. I was able to takeaway about a paragraph worth of material throughout the entire time I listened to it. There are other books out there on real estate that will dive deeper into the subject matter while explaining it in simple terms so it's applicable to new entrants.

Good but not what I was expecting

Would you try another book from Ken McElroy and/or Garrett Sutton?

Probably, but after doing some research myself

Would you recommend Rich Dad Advisors: ABCs of Real Estate Investing to your friends? Why or why not?

No because this book is not for everyone. The title is misleading. It's supposed to teach other people how to invest in real estate, but all the stories in the book focus on how to invest in Apartment Real Estate properties, which costs millions of dollars, not something an average Joe can start investing on.

Was Rich Dad Advisors: ABCs of Real Estate Investing worth the listening time?

No

Any additional comments?

Title is misleading. Should have read the reviews first.

Useless unless u are buying 100 apt in Portland

Would you try another book from Ken McElroy and/or Garrett Sutton?

no

What was most disappointing about Ken McElroy’s story?

everything was was focused on massive 100 + doors
not much info on doing duplex or quadlex

Did Garrett Sutton do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

yes

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Not bad at all

it basically does a great job detailing a sure way to make money from buying multiple rental units. I was expecting more in the buying and selling and or single unit rentals

Not bad, but short. Brief overview of the process.

Not a lot of good details. More of a general overview of how to buy commercial real-estate. The chapter on investigating the area is pretty good, but the rest is vague. I guess you can't expect a lot of detail from a 5 hour book .if you're just starting off i highly recommend 'the book on rental real estate' from bigger pockets. Way more information.

Great for Apartment Investing

Fantastic book with several practical steps to run your own apartment bldgs. You probably couldn't go buy an apartment immediately after reading this but you will be miles ahead of someone who has not been educated in this way. Two thumbs up!

I feel very prepared for real estate investing

I first started listening to robert kyosaki's "unfair advantage" and he mentioned how real estate is the easiest investment to work with but I felt intimidated by not knowing all of the little details I would need to know in order to be successful. he kept talking about getting continuous education and when I came across this book and listened to it, gave me EVERY ANSWER to the questions I had in my head. it's almost as if ken mcleroy was reading my mind and understanding my fears/concerns. after listening to this book I feel empowered and confident to start my real estate investment career.

Okay, but not one of the greats

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Conceptually it was good needed more case studies and actual examples. If you were a beginner this could have been great.

Has Rich Dad Advisors: ABCs of Real Estate Investing turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I loved Rich Dad Poor Dad, but the other books from this brand have been a real bummer.

What about Garrett Sutton’s performance did you like?

The vocals were really magnificent. Normally get annoyed by certain narrators. Didn't happen here.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Nope. Its a real-estate book. I would be bored to tears if i had to sit and watch this.

Any additional comments?

It was just okay, wouldn't have been worth the money if i paid for it
