Absolutely!. I have had problems with insomnia and I listen to this when I would like to go to sleep. It relaxes me and even if I do fall asleep, I know that the information is getting into my subconscious. I have noticed that I have been more productive, had more energy and felt better overall since listening to Dr. Amen's 30 min program every night for the last few weeks.
Dr. Amen's voice is very soothing. I like emphasis on living our life "now" and being in the present moment is where we should live, versus dwelling in the past. As he says....there absolutely nothing we can do to change the past, so dwelling on it is a waste of time!!
Now I almost automatically use the relaxation technique of breathing to calm myself in stressful situations. I do feel more energetic and focused after listening to this program. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it certainly has worked for me.
I have been mediating for 2 months now and I was looking for some more guided meditations. I found it! Dr. Amen has a wisdom to his voice and the journey he takes you on to meditate, is one of lovely flower, pretty parks and healing waters. There is no music in the background and there is no religious suggestions. It's just the doc and the images he wants you to create to increase blood flow to your brain. I highly recommend this to people who do not know where to begin with stress reduction and think that regular meditation is weird.
Been listening for a couple weeks and my mood has improved. Past hurts aren't as painful. I look forward to listening to it.
