Tara Brach was confirming concepts I've been reading about: Ekhardt Tolle, Byron Katie, ACIM. When the student is ready the teacher appears. And wow...thank you Tara!

Cassandra Campbell is my favorite narrator ironically. She was one of the narrators in The Help. This was a great combo for me: fav narrator and fav subject matter.
All the great and different stories that explain things in a way that resonates. And disrupting our habitual behaviors in order to accept in the moment...try it!
I first heard of Tara Brach on Hay House Radio in 2007 and I had only heard a meditation by her but I loved it. So I was going in sorta blind on this book and I was so thrilled she was talking about exactly what I was studying. I've read Jack Kornfield, Mark Epstein, Pema Chodron and Ram Dass...Tara is right up there with the master teachers.
I have read many books on meditation. I have been a fan of Tolle for a very long time, but I have to say this book by Brach is far more reaching and more practical than any book I have read by Tolle. Tolle I have seemed to listen to countless times, but found Radical Acceptance to provide clearer direction on what action to take day by day. She gives very clear examples of how to practice mindfulness, meditation, and work through some emotional issues.
Her reading is wonderful, to the point, read with emotion. She reads this book as if she was the author. Excellent!
I haven't listened to Campbell's performances before, but her narration on this book is fitting for the author. The pairing is done well.
Amazing life changing
she has a lovely speaking voice and switches between characters well.
Most of it. I learned that I don't have to push and be better. I am good enough as I am. This is a wonderful way to learn and apply self-acceptance and love.
Just to set the record straight, I reviewed Meditation and Psychotherapy accidently as another book I got, unfortunately it will not allow me to change anything but the stars, Audible said you cannot change it or delete. the book is AWESOME! Tara Brach is Awesome! The book I was rating I returned and was aweful. sorry
It is comparable to Eckhart Tolle's work, I accidentally reviewed her other book! Meditations and phychotherapy wrongly, I was trying to review a book tht was horrible. Both this book and meditations and phychotherapy are great! They truly helped me in becoming more present and taught me ways to deal with my emotions and meditate in ways that will help me in the future.
She has a calming voice but speaks too fast. Would have preferred Tara Brach as narrator.
Great addition to meditation and physiotherapy which was meant for psychologists and lay people.
sometimes words blurr together. she has a voice that is so great and real.

The gentle way in which Tara Brach couches these concepts.
Living Your Yoga, because it similarly breaks out painful human tendencies with compassion and meditative exercises for accepting them.
Her voice is so soothing and gentle. I'm able to practice yoga while listening, which is a step up from reading a physical book since I'd have to put the book down to engage in the meditative exercises fully.
Everyone just wants to feel safe, happy, and loved. That makes painful interactions easier to bear.
I've owned the paperback for years but just couldn't find time to sit and read.
