Had new information and ideas for this dog lover. Ready for my puppy! Very easy to follow the instructions. They definitely work! My dog was already well trained, but this built both her confidence and mine. She is not as needy or as much of an attention hog as she was.
This puppy training guidebook is amazing and very helpful. By the help of this book I have learned lots of effective techniques and lessons for making our puppy more obedient. Inside of this book the author has described about some amazing and helpful house training instructions. Actually, I badly need to learn this training technique and for that reason I purchased this book three weeks ago. My old friend suggested me about this book and told me about the quality of this book.
This is a good basic book of dog training, but it is written especially for puppies. I am working with an adult rescue dog with some behavior problems. The book was helpful with most of those, and is written in an engaging, first person style. For what it is intended, it is a good book, so I'm giving it 5 stars. It is not this book's fault that it isn't intended for older dogs
The book is a great source for learning how to train your dog with positive reinforcement. The problem with all of these kind of books is that they are written by professional trainers, meaning that this is ALL they do. It's their job and thus they can fully commit to spending the amount of time it takes to train a dog properly. For the average dog owner, the lack of time is the biggest hurdle to overcome. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts to training a dog. So my advice is to get this book and take about 6 weeks off. :)
I haven't gotten very far yet, but can tell that I definitely need the print copy so that I can flip through it to concentrate on the areas that my dogs and I need the most attention. One example - I didn't understand it when our class instructor was demonstrating it in class, but the concept of naming the behavior after it is learned was well explained in the book.
I'm looking forward to putting the things I'm learning into practice!
The only limitation of this book is the willingness of the dog's owner! Dog training is a patience-intensive task and there's no silver bullet, but provided you have patience, this book is an absolutely fantastic resource. If you don't have patience, there's no silver bullet and no book will help you. I've recommended it to everyone I know with new puppies! Our dog Biscuit is a shining example, and where she's not perfect, it's not because the book was wrong--it's because we were happy enough with her progress. And as they say, it's never too late to teach an old dog new tricks.
This book taught me so much and really helped out a lot with her. We were also able to train our 4 year old dog who is tiny and we thought was untrainable but he is able to do all of the same things our new dog can, so this book definitely works for adult dogs as well! Read this book if you want a well trained dog - at any age
Very good read! Bought this and Cesar's book. This one wins hands down! I referred to it every day while training our dalmatian and lab. Cesar's was more stories, this one told me what to work on and how to do it!
The book puppy training guide is a great and interesting book. It is a enjoyable and useful too. The author has explained it in detail. This book gave me many "A-HA" moments, the tools taught will carry over into my rescue organization, in turn making our rescue dogs more adoptable. Brandon has more experience with animals and training than most of us could dream of achieving. A phenominal read for and animal/dog lover!
Double leash lock off, penny bottle and ESPECIALLY door dashing, my dog is now better behaved at 8 years old, than he has ever been thanks to these tools. This book helps for beginners also. I would like to thank the author Kevin Theis, Thanks. I recommend this book to all.
This book is more useful than print version. This book is very very useful and interesting book.
I like all the characters in this story. It is very interesting. The author has moved the story in interesting way.
