This is one of the most important and best-presented books I've ever listened to. It tells what parents, children and especially young women need to know to keep from becoming victims of violent crime. I've been in law enforcement for a long time, and much was eye-opening to me. The only drawback is that it is severely abridged, and there is no unabridged version.
Protecting the gift picks up where "Gift of Fear" leaves off. It is full of insights into keeping your child (as well as yourself) safe. What he says makes so much sense - I have already recommended it to several friends, and will continue to do so! Thank you for an amazing work!
Yes, with the caveat that De Becker goes on an anti-gun rant that is truly reprehensible at this point. The information is quite good and likely to prove helpful to anyone who pays attention.
Pretty sure I just answered this same question in the item above.
See item1 above. Great information and expertise, lose the political perspective.
This really gives you something to think long and hard about!! Open your eyes and look around. Always be aware of your surroundings and teach this to all those precious to you.
Be someone who sees what "is" to make wise choices about Family safety. It is so much easier to not think about bad things but that does not prevent them from happening.
I listened to the entire book with rapt attention, the author manages to take a possibly dry topic and insert enough real life anecdotes to keep one riveted. I have told many friends about this book and will now purchase the print version as one of my reference books. As good as the audio is, I think the a print copy will help when referencing a particular point or chapter.
