Publisher's Summary

"Just be yourself!" People say it all the time, but how do we actually live it?

For more than a decade, Matthew Kelly has been helping people discover the best version of themselves. Now, in Perfectly Yourself, he addresses the opportunities and obstacles that we encounter once we decide to ask life's big questions: Who am I? What am I here for? Focusing on nine powerful and practical lessons, Kelly shows us how to find lasting happiness in a changing world.

We all have an insatiable need to grow and improve. We yearn for progress. And yet, many of us fail to achieve the transformations we desire. As Kelly explains, "Fundamental to all transformation is understanding the dynamics of change, so that we can be aware of the obstacles and opportunities that await us when we attempt to transform an area of our lives."

Kelly teaches us how to find the balance between accepting ourselves for who we are and challenging ourselves to become all we are capable of being. He encourages us to unify the many aspects of our lives, and reveals how to move beyond other people's expectations of who and what we should be.

"Couldn't make it past chapter 2"

Author spends quite a bit of time off topic and can't seem to get to the point - the list of the authors favorite restaurants by city which is worked in - is self indulgent and proves my point. If this were condensed and consice I'm sur I would have a better reaction but as it is it is a frustrating listen. This title also makes the case for professional narration.

    "Excellent food for thought"

Matthew Kelly is one of my favorite authors and public speakers and I believe this book is an excellent "how to" for implementing the ideas he presents in "The Rhythm of Life." Some reviewers complained that it seemed as though he were "lecturing" but I didn't take it that way at all. Most of the time he is just being humerous. As with any self-help book, remember that these are simply the opinions of the author and take from it those elements which you feel can enrich your own life.

    "Good Reminders"
Would you listen to Perfectly Yourself again? Why?

Yes. I would almost rather have in Kindle because he recommends many multi step processes.

What did you like best about this story?

The common sense. Also, I know Matthew Kelly as a Catholic author but this book is really non sectarian.

Which character – as performed by Matthew Kelly – was your favorite?

    This is non fiction.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When he talks about discipline, he makes it sound so rewarding.
