Three Talks by David R. Hawkins, MD, PhD.

Depression

Dr. Hawkins reviews the scale of emotions and their energy fields. He shows how to get out of depression instantly. He unveils the real cause of depression and teaches that biochemical changes in the brain are a consequence and not the cause. He reveals the basic cause of hopelessness and how to overcome it, along with sin, anger, guilt, self-hatred, and suicidal thoughts. When there is loss of meaning and self-worth, there is a need to create a new context. There is discussion of the use of antidepressants as adjunctive therapy. One learns what to do about depression, how to hold it and recontextualize one’s life, and thus relieve the condition.

Illness

The source of illness is unconscious guilt compounded by a specific belief system. Dr. Hawkins describes how he healed himself of 20 chronic diseases that were incurable with medical treatment. Normal vision returned after 40 years of wearing glasses. The step-by-step process and "how-to" of self-healing and the value of past-life regression and recall in the alleviation of certain disorders are revealed. Illness is the result of programming, buying into suggestion from family belief systems, and the collective consciousness. Recovery from any illness is possible. Learn how to energize the healer that is within.

Alcoholism

Understanding alcoholism from the viewpoint of consciousness opens the door to the way out. Failure of common models of addiction and why society has not been able to handle the problem are presented. One needs to understand the true nature of addiction. Both the addict and society think that alcohol or the drug is the problem; however, neither is the underlying problem.

Included is the core of the Keynote Address given by Dr. Hawkins at the First National Conference on Consciousness and Addictions.

Practical inner work of great depth

I've been studying David Hawkins material since 2010 and these office talk lectures are his most practical material for doing inner work and making real changes in your life. These office talk lectures were later transcribed into his book Healing and Recovery. If you were just to get down the beginning that he covers in each lecture that alone would be life changing itself. But it takes some looking into about what he says.

Specifically, at the beginning of these lectures, including the one I am writing about now, he explains, and I am parahprasing "The body cannot experience the body, sensations cannot experience sensations, the mind cannot experience the mind, consciousness is a field of quality, and cannot experience itself. Awareness is a quality of consciousness within the field of consciousness, and that is where we experience."

This sets up what he will explain about illness and how to heal yourself. If you can get how you are experiencing and on what level you experience things, then you can handle issues in consciousness itself rather than where we think we are handling things by default, which is the body and mind. If one can let go of programs at the level of consciousness, they can much easily remove the programs that are causing illness to continue. I had to go over this material many times and practice looking within what he was saying in order to reap the benefits of it. And some of the things that came up were difficult to work through. But if you can work through them on the level of consciousness itself, then they can become easy to work through and one can make far more progress in their lives than they would expect. These lectures are of a different level than your typical self-help stuff.

Recording of a school lecture. Not helpful.

I found this in self-help. Not what I was looking for. Got it based on rating. It's a recording of a lecture. He's constantly referencing a chart the listener can't see. Not helpful at all. Monotone and he seems bored I reference to material until you get to subject of multiple personalities.
