Packed with examples of people who pursued their goals relentlessly, the book profiles nearly 50 individuals who prevailed against all odds. From the builder of the Brooklyn Bridge to the chemists who invented Post-It notes we meet people like Bessie Coleman, an African-American who had to go to flight school in Paris in order to learn how to fly. But she did, becoming the first woman in America to earn her pilot's license in 1920.

When I first listened to this book via my public library, I did not know the author was homophobic. Thank heavens. For had I known, I would never have picked up her book, muchless purchase it later from audible. This is an extremely encouraging, motivating book without being uber-hyper and without any evidence of homophobia in it. It gives common sense tips about establishing priorities, sticking to principles and above all, trusting in God, and never ever giving up. I recommend this book to anyone. The narrator is great - I actually thought it was the author as I had never heard Joyce Meyer's voice before - speaking with confidence, assurance and compassion. Great book.
This audio book inspires me to never give up! I am listening to it again for the second time and I'm sure I will do so more in the future. Joyce gives so many inspiring stories about the lives of people who went through much difficulties but they never gave up. I would recommend this book to anyone who has thoughts of giving up on anything. I use it as I walk on my treadmill and I get so involved that I walk longer than I originally intended. That's a good thing!
God always knows what we need when we need it, and he really spoke through Joyce Meyer in this book to me to encourage me to never give up. I enjoyed the
narration very much and I believe I will listen to this book again! Keep writing Joyce!
Joyce just has a way of telling it like it is -- blunt and truthful, but not hurtful -- but she doesn't sugar coat it either. She's up front about how much hard work is involved in improving yourself, your life, and your relationship with the Lord. Her life is a living testimony that it's worth it in the long run, if you never give up (a lot like investing your money -- if you keep adding a little bit on a regular basis, it pays off in the end). I always enjoy the encouragement I get from listening to Joyce!
Mom of 2 boys ... originally from Brooklyn, NY now living in beautiful Nevada!
I really wouldnt. it wasnt horrible but it was not as interesting as some Joel Osteen books Ive listened to
she just went on and on about stories that just werent relavent
calming, peaceful, soothing
No...i didnt even make it all the way through before just putting it down
It inspired me, gave me hope and made me believe that good things can happen in "MY" life if I trust God and Never Give Up. I believed it could happen for others but not for me. Now That's changed. I will listen to this again and again. Love Joyce Meyer's teachings, she really hits the nail on the head w me. The narrator was good, her voice was slow enough and soft enough voice to make it easy to focus while driving, cooking, cleaning, etc. I'm about to purchase my 4th Joyce Meyer audio book. Each one so far has changed my thinking in some way which has freed me from something negative. Yay God! : )
I like to listen to the Joyce Meyers books over and over. It seems I learn something each time I hear her words.
I love the inspirational subjects with personal and historic examples of the subject matter. It makes you understand that you are not alone in your struggles.
I could not stop listening to this book the points she give are enlightening. I have been blessed and will NEVER GIVE UP !!!
