Publisher's Summary

In 1938, just after publication of his all-time best-seller Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill revealed that he had broken the Devil’s Code, forcing him to confess his secrets. The resulting manuscript - Outwitting the Devil - proved so controversial, it was hidden for more than 70 years. Now, Sharon Lechter brings us this important book, annotating and editing it for a contemporary audience. Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Hill digs deep to identify the greatest obstacles we face in reaching our personal goals - including fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy - as tools orchestrated by the Devil himself. These hidden methods of control can lead us to ruin, and Hill reveals the seven principles of good that will allow us to finally triumph over them and succeed.

Fascinating, provocative, and empowering, Outwitting the Devil shows how to create your own path to success, harmony, and fulfillment in an age of uncertainty and fear.

What the Critics Say

"My simple faith is this: If we are created in God’s image, then we were born to create, and to create is to prosper. [This] previously unpublished Napoleon Hill manuscript.... I’ve read it and recommend it." (Rich Karlgaard, Publisher of Forbes magazine)

"This BOOK will Literally change your life!"
Would you listen to Napoleon Hill's Outwitting the Devil again? Why?

Yes, because of the wisdom it offers. All your setbacks in life will be answered in this interview Napoleon Hill has with the Devil. You'll understand why your constantly caught up in a web of doubt and fear -- more so the book reveals what allows you to get out of this web.

What other book might you compare Napoleon Hill's Outwitting the Devil to and why?

There are similarities with other books on the subject on producing good habits and willpower
but the reason this book opened my eyes is I understand why I would go back to my bad habits that caused me to procrastinate, not stay focused, ect....

    Which scene was your favorite?

The law of hypnotic rhythm is my favorite chapter -- makes total sense and since I've read that chapter it's totally changed my life forever!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Yes laugh!

    Any additional comments?

This book will change your life if you let it -- I've read lots of self improvement books BUT the wisdom in this book is unprecedented.

Makes me believe that Napoleon Hill really had an interview with the Devil.

    "IMMEASURABLY POWERFUL... YET..."

I'm empowered thru my ability to be and to the extent that I am definite. Sharon... why oh why did you feel out necessary to interject throughout the book instead of writing your own book revealing your thoughts on this book. or even saving your thoughts for the end. it just seemed insulting to the original text and honestly annoying to keep hearing breaks in the flow of conversation to hear a third party coming in, qualifying, interpreting and framing the points being made as if it was unclear. I do not mean to be rude, just honest feedback. And the references to the other book she wrote didn't help. although I believe it would be a worthwhile read. .

greatest revelation of the millennium. A much needed shift in awareness for today's culture. Narration could be more dramatic to draw the reader in, however still well done.

"One of the best audiobook I have heard to date"

All should read/listen to this book. Archived for over 70 years, it is surprisingly relevant today. Maybe not surprising because human nature has not changed regardless of time and technology. It is short, to the point and will hit a chord regardless of age and experience.
