Publisher's summary

“Napoleon Hill was one of America’s great, influential thinkers who continues to have an enormous impact today.” - Steve Forbes, editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine

Bestselling author Napoleon Hill reveals the seven principles of good that allow us to triumph over obstacles...and find success.

Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Napoleon Hill digs deep to reveal how fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy prevent us from realizing our personal goals. This long-suppressed parable, once considered too controversial to publish, was written by Hill in 1938 following the publication of his classic bestseller, Think and Grow Rich. Annotated and edited for a contemporary audience by Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Three Feet from Gold coauthor Sharon Lechter, this book is profound, powerful, resonant, and rich with insight.

Critic reviews

"My simple faith is this: If we are created in God’s image, then we were born to create, and to create is to prosper. [This] previously unpublished Napoleon Hill manuscript.... I’ve read it and recommend it." (Rich Karlgaard, Publisher of Forbes magazine)

Worth the read

If you can look past the way the information is given (the interview), the content itself is impressive.

Had to listen in short bursts

Any additional comments?

I was determined to finish this book because of the reviews I read about how transforming the information was (it was pretty good), but I had to listen to it just a little bit at a time because the narration was choppy.

Great story, filled with principles

I found this book to be awesome for awakening the reader to the errors in their thinking that could cause them to stumble, over and over again in life. I initially thought the dialogue was cheesy, but then it got good. The Devil, which represents the negative spectrum of our ego has never been represented so thoroughly. This representation is the missing piece in the personal development genre.

Unexpected great read from Napoleon Hill

I almost returned this book after listening to the first few minutes. There was quite a bit of talk about religion and an imaginary talk with the Devil, plus my bad memory of "Think and Grow Rich" where Mr. Hill says that he won't tell the secret. Let me say that the conversation with the Devil gives me a completely different opinion of Mr. Hill. The major point is to have a major definite purpose and that will lead to health, happiness and prosperity. It is lack of a major definite purpose that causes failure in these areas.
