Everyday life is so frantic and full of troubles that we have largely forgotten how to live a joyful existence. We try so hard to be happy that we often end up missing the most important parts of our lives. In Mindfulness, Oxford professor Mark Williams and award-winning journalist Danny Penman reveal the secrets to living a happier and less anxious, stressful, and exhausting life.
Based on the techniques of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, the unique program developed by Williams and his colleagues, this book offers simple and straightforward forms of mindfulness meditation that can be done by anyone—and it can take just 10 to 20 minutes a day for the full benefits to be revealed.

Really good content - but VERY hard to follow up and practice the detailed steps for the 8 week program. It would be so simple for the authors/publisher to include an 8 page pdf - a single page outline for each of the weekly steps. I was going to gift this audiobook to a friend, but not w/o the written support materials. Too bad ;-(
It certainly is better than the paper version. Just to hear Mark William's voice. He has wonderful voice that has a calming effect, at least for me. It helps me to start my meditation just to focus on his voice. Awesome!
Yes, Because it is much more touching when heard, than read.
Meditation Excercise 4
It takes time, I am writing this review after 1.5 years of Practicing. It really requires some time to sink in.
family tree buff
I could never find time to meditate and always felt guilty. His meditations are short and so relaxing. I bookmarked them all so that I could easily listen to them. The reader has the most peaceful voice.
Just loved all of the meditations and techniques for being mindful.
Practical, inspiring and enlighting
Simple steps to become more aware of life itself.
Breath and stay in the now.
Would've liked to have each meditation on a separate track.
This book is especially nice on audible because all the meditations are at the end. I am glad I invested in this. It's something that I will go back to for a long time.
Very useful introduction to mindfulness meditation, containing the soundtracks for a healthy practice. The narrator's voice is wonderful to listen to, so calm and warm. The main attraction of this book is the sound tracks, and it can benefit from being used alongside a more indepth presentation of the rationale behind each practice - I can strongly recommend "The Mindful Way through Depression. Freeing yourself from Chronic Unhappiness" - even if you are not depressed :-)
I live in Japan, and there are times when the stress of living here can be pretty challenging. This book has truly helped to reduce my level of stress through the practice of guided meditation. The narration is spot on.
