Choose passages that represent your highest ideals, memorize them, then follow Easwaran's instructions and send them deep into consciousness through slow, sustained attention.
If you meditate regularly, the truths the passages express become part of your life, enabling you to become the person you want to be.

Easwaran has a magnificient capability to get hold of its audience. His sense of humor intensifies the impact of his messages. It is one of the best talks I listened to about meditation for beginners...both informative and inspiring at the same time . Although he repeats himself in a couple of instances that again has a strengthening effect on his messages.
This book is exactly what it claims to be, a practical guide to meditation. Additionally, Easwaran's voice and delivery are so charming to me that I have bought other titles just to listen to him speak. It has been very useful to my practice.
I didn't get as much as I expected with this lecture/book. I will most likely purchase another book on meditation instead.
