Publisher's summary

From the moment we emerge into the world as an infant we begin a journey of experience. We all share the desire to be happy. In this journey we will all experience emotional and physical pain and the loss of what we love. How we meet our losses and pains will determine the amount of peace we have in our lives. If we meet them as the hardened warrior or the defeated victim we live from survival and peace escapes us. In Medicine of One, Lomakayu, spiritual teacher, Soul Dreamer, and the originator of primordial movements for emotional healing, offers us a path to spiritual awareness, self-compassion and freedom that is as simple as a Circle. Using his own unique teachings, personal experience, and poetic language, he shares a path that will enliven, bring clarity, inspire, and fulfill you no matter where you are in life. Allow yourself to open the pages of Medicine of One... breathe in the words... and slowly grasp all you can from what is written. You will find yourself in a Circle full of deep understanding and self-compassion.

A Journey to the Soul's Purpose

Any additional comments?

The state of the soul is good.

There was a time when I knew a little about a lot of things, now I know nothing. I don't know, I just don't know where to begin or end. Thinking too much about this would mean I have learned little. This I have learned, to surrender doe not mean capitulation and the compassion of a true heart is not pity.

Having been provided a gift of both the audio and paperback versions of Medicine of One, I decided not to squander this incredible heartfelt gesture and began reading. Personally, I recommend both, each offers something different, the written word provides the visual and rational conception, while the spoken word renders inflections and nuances that can only be gained through listening to Lomakayu himself. His voice and eloquence resonate with the Soul.

Along the way of the Medicine of One, you may learn about deep listening; the Warrior, the Victim, Compassion, Quiet and Flow. You may discover a new love for geometry and Circles. You will learn and come to understand that nothing leaves the Circle. That the way to Quiet, to be Flow, must embrace all the trials and tribulations of your journey. The thinking logical mind perceives the space bound by the arc of the Circle as finite, yet within, the journey to the center is infinite.

The truth be told, the Medicine of One is a mindful and beautiful vision of a journey which we all take at different points in time. There is not much that I know about philosophy, self-healing modalities or spirituality. The most difficult concept and task asked by Lomakayu is to give up thinking. The Medicine of One offers a method, a path to understanding, a way home to one's Soul purpose. The way of Quiet and Flow opens the way to all that is spiritual and natural. This way is through self understanding, self love and being one with Flow, and surrendering to Spirit.

The essence of our being, of our soul, is to journey to wander to seek rejoining with nature, the world of Spirit. The Medicine of One can be read and reread as your mind will not be satisfied, the breadth and depth of the lessons of Medicine of One can not be found in one read. There is a profound splendor of imagery by the author and editor, with each reading discovering a ray of an unseen light. The intrinsic truths that can be found within Medicine of One echos within the Soul, like the ancient voices that echo in the desert, or that special place that one has found to sit in Flow and Quiet, evoking spiritual oneness. The elusive happiness and peace we seek, can be found in the sad music and tragic dance of our journey, if we listen.

You will have to forgive my rambling and diatribe. As for me my recent journey and implementation of Medicine of One, and the creation of Circles, has been used to try regain very important traits lost by me. The ability to plan and to focus, to remember that which used to come intuitively. My mind wanders, as do I, time is my only enemy. The Circle is providing discipline.

If the measure of Shaman is to teach, then Lomakayu is a Shaman.

Surrender.

Be Compassion, Be Quiet, Be Flow.
