I almost didn't buy this book because of the vague synopsis. Glad I did because this is one incredible book!!!! I've probably read and listened to more motivational/ business books/audios than 98% of the population. At this point, I'm grateful for even one lightbulb moment when I read on this subject. However, this book packed a powerful punch from beginning to end. Definitely a book everyone will get something out of, but for those currently struggling with an issue or constant, multiple issues ( which surprisingly I learned is most of us), you're going to want to give Mr. Andrews a great big bear hug after you learn what he has to teach you. He shows you how longtime successful people deal with seemingly insurmountable problems and come back even stronger... not once, but over and over again. The good news is that anyone can learn how to do the same. I know some of you are rolling your eyes right now. Believe me, I'd heard that promise from many other programs too, but this is the first one that successfully delivered for me. Mr. Andrews describes the who/what/where/when and why of just about any issue I could come up with and made it easy to understand just how to take that first important step. This audiobook is easy to listen to, impossible to forget. Sorry this is so long. I never write critiques, but this book made (and continues to make)such a phenomenal impact on my life....the least I could do was take the time to acknowledge what a wonderful audio this is and hope my critique will convince you that your money will be well spent buying this book. Of all the audio books I've ever listened to, this is the only book where I could recite every lesson if tested. To me, that's a sure sign of an incredible book.
Excellent book and easy to listen to.
I like Andy Andrews' voice and his reading of the book was perfect. I listen to the book often while on my long commute to work each morning. Points are clear and well illustrated with stories. Extremely motivating!
Look no farther! Buy this book! This is one of the best inspirational books, of over a hundred, that I have listened to through the years. This is one of the few that you will listen to numerous times. The feel of the stories and concepts hits home on so many fronts. Because I do put a lot of value on other reviews at audible.com I feel motivated to write a review here. And still I have only done this a few times. This book is just that good. My hope is that you might find the same vigor for life that this audio book unfolded in me. Have a great day and I really mean that.
This is an amazing book that will bring you hope and success. You could listen to this book over and over again, and every time you learn something new. I have bought a lot of audio books, and I should say this the best one ever. Listen to this book. You owe it to yourself.
All of the moments were memorable.
The stories from historical battles from a different perspective. He brought them to life and I felt as though I was part of the action. You could see and feel the action. If I had been listening to one of those stories on my way to work, I would have sat in the car and finished listening before going in to work!
So many... but becoming a person of action is one I will take with me.
Andy Andrews is the only person who could narrate this book. Excellent from first minute to last minute.
This audiobook is very good and has tons of personal and professional messages for anyone willing to put them to work. The only thing i would change is the narrator. His voice is not direct enough and very choppy. I can't put my finger on it. It still doesn't take away from the message but a different reader might have been able to do a better job. Thanks!
I love anything by Andy. He is an excellent story teller, and has some great other stories to tell in this audio book than you've heard from him before. My only complaint, and it was minor, is that I didn't hear the energy in his voice as I've heard from him before. I have his "Timeless Wisdom from the Traveler" CDs from years ago, and he was much more expressive in them. This was essentially a remake of them with a little more. All over though - I recommend completely! I've already passed this on!
I already have! It's life changing. It's like a system reboot.
I was so moved by the whole book I can't choose.
I loved Andy's reading of this book. It felt like he was my friend, that he cares and wants me to succeed. He is an excellent narrator.
When speaking of Joan of Arc, when she said " I won't be looking back", I had tears in my eyes. I had tears in my eyes thru most of this book. He spoke to my heart.
I have listened once, plan to listen over and over. I have ordered a hard copy for myself as well. I have already gifted an audible version and ordered two hard copies to give as gifts.
I was unimpressed by this book. The review made me feel like this would be a remarkable work but it was nothing more than ordinary. I like the conclusions that Andy Andrews draws but I cannot say I was utterly impressed. I kind of think they are common sense. The book was exceedingly redundant. A scan of this book at the bookstore would be enough rather than listening to 5.5 hrs.
I do not want to be negative - as I appreciate the enthusiasm and fact that Andy is trying to inspire others. It is fairly manifest that his aim is to actuate others in a positive manner. But the hype for this book is too much and if I had the choice again, I would scan it at the book store and listen to something else.
It is probably about 2.5 stars but I rated it down b/c of too many high ratings.
If you are needing a kick in the pants to get your life in order, this book is about a 4.
Good job, Andy; but sorry I've got to think of others time.
