Entertaining, Thought Provoking, Easy Listening
SylviaBrowne is in a class all of her own..
The funny, witty and honest stories, Sylvia shares with her audience ,reguarding her first ex husband were insightful, witty and honest. Most divorced people could relate to where she is coming from.
We are living in Hell while we here! Home is actually up there along with our soul mate. Interestingly Sylvia tells us we don't travel to the earthly realm with our soul mate. We are separated when on earth as the mate stays behind ,at home.
I found Sylvia Browne to be a thoroughly entertaining, articulate speaker. When I started the book I was only going to listen for 10 minutes, to get the feel of the audio. I found myself 2 hours later still sitting in the same spot. I had listened to the complete audio in one sitting! If spirits, angels, guides & the after life are of fascination then this ones a definite for your collection.
It could have related to the title! It was just a rambling session. Entertaining, but I learned nothing about psychic powers or making contact with the other side. VERY DISAPPOINTING! :-(
Of hers, yes.
this was very good and I would recommend it. While the description states it would show you how to contact your guides etc. this was more like a lecture on Sylvia and her spirit guide. That withstanding, this was very entertaining and showed what a great story teller she is. Her personality really comes out in this.
Loved her performance! She was witty and funny.
A hilarious evening with Sylvia Browne
while it really didn't accomplish what the description stated, I still really enjoyed htis.
Nowhere is there any info on the subject of enhancing your own psychic powers. I don't think she knows the first thing to tell someone who has active psychic abilities.
I'm sure there are books that are actually illuminating and helpful on the subject, this just isn't one of them.
She's definitely is an entertaining story teller and wins over the audience with her comedic observations. But that's all she has to offer.
This book inspired me to look up her record as a "psychic". Many years ago, I wrote her off as trite and a fraud. Memories fade and people change, I decided to give it a chance. Listening to this tape made me suspect it all over again. And what do you know, she is a FRAUD! She's been quoted over and over again and has been dead wrong. Also, the things she has said, I believe are unethical and thoughtless for a respectable psychic to say. Basically, what i'd personally consider doing more damage than good IF in fact what she answered wasn't all b.s. in the first place.Since i have a pile of them, I think it was worth a free credit for the entertainment and chuckles i had, but I would definitely not go to her for spiritual advice. There's a lot of stuff she sells as insightful advice, and maybe it's helpful to some that need to hear the obvious stated or likes advice in the form of comedic griping, but it's very simplistic and not that insightful. There's no substance and on several occasions, I cringed.
She slammed meditation and champions helping others. I can't say emphatically enough you can't begin to help others until you help yourself. And nobody seeks peace harder than he who does not have it in his heart. If you seek meditation, than you need it. Simple as that. Meditation is to help you get in touch with who you really are, not to help you disconnect or escape. I believe it can help you be more effective as well as reach a higher level of awareness. As you heal yourself, you heal the world. There is no martyrdom needed, it just happens like a rippling effect. When you emanate from a higher state it goes out into the world without force or control. Ever notice how smiling is contagious? Now, how much more direct and autonomous that is rather than you doing a song and dance (my metaphor for 'help') for everyone you meet, only to find some people didn't like the what it looked like or sounded? And what of the burden you've taken on to make up a "better one" to suite their tastes? Or better yet, what message are you sending yourself that your value is equated with that of an outcome? I'm deviating into ways in which "help" isn't all it's cracked up to be. Help comes in many forms, and the worst is when it's no help at all. You ever had "help" from someone who means well but is ill prepared for the job? This is what I mean, it's very important you take care of yourself first, not the other way around. She mentions reincarnation, but misses out on it's purpose. We are all here to experience, learn and grow. It's all part of our soul evolution. Ignoring our need to heal and trying to help others instead is not conducive to that. We are all in different places on our path, when helping others is right for us, we will do so. But some of us are still stuck in a ditch, while others are digging further in. These people can't pull others out like those who are at a higher elevation and have gotten themselves out of it.
She gripes about 'codependence' because she seems to think psychologists think it's bad that some people what to help others. That's not the issue, it's about personal boundaries, self-love and self-esteem; that some people put others so ahead of themselves that they neglect their own needs. Again, martyrdom plays an unhealthy role here. People end up over extended, drained, obligated, guilt ridden, fearful, anxious, victimized and plenty of other nasties all because they can't let go of fear/control and believe sacrificing their well being will redeem them or their situation. So yes, codependence is bad. Helping others, isn't.
Lastly, she claims nobody can see chakras. Psychics see things in different ways, many see things with their minds eye (like me) and few may see things more physically. it's all in the way they function. I believe some people can see chakras. Watch 'psychic kids' on netflix and you'll see many similarities but also differences in skill sets and perceptive abilities. And yes, you'll encounter kids who see chakras outright.
Overall, it was entertaining and had funny feel good parts if you don't take it very seriously. On the other hand, i personally believe she is a fraud and can't offer any real spiritual advice. At best, she can repeat crude basics of what is generally accepted in the metaphysical community, but this woman for all her years ain't no scholar on the subject as far as I can tell. At least she shows absolutely no demonstration of it. She is an entertainer and a performer and far as i am concerned, so if you want entertainment and performance, this might be for you. Good luck.

The title has nothing to do with the content. there is nothing presented of how to contact the other side. However, If you love Sylvia it is the funniest lecture I've even seen or heard. It's a fun spiritual lecture with a touch of stand up comedy.
This was not a very interesting listen. Sylvia Brown apparently thinks she is a comic unfortunately she is not very funny and the content is a bit stale.
