In December of 2011, I gave a talk to an audience of scientists, Pentagon officials, politicians, and CEOs on the secret of life and how I'd figured it out the previous summer. Afterward, people came up individually and told me how much what I'd shared meant to them. This book is based on the truth I spoke about. It's something I learned from within myself, something I believed saved me. And more than that, the way I set about to do it.
This is a collection of thoughts on what I learned, what worked, what didn't. Where I succeed and importantly, where I fail daily. The truth is to love yourself with the same intensity you would use to pull yourself up if you were hanging off a cliff with your fingers. As if your life depended upon it. Once you get going, it's not hard to do. Just takes commitment and I'll share how I did it.
It's been transformative for me. I know it will be transformative for you as well.

What a waste of an hour of my time. Okay, I get it; we should love ourselves. And the only bit of instruction is to sit down for 7 minutes a day listening to a song you like telling yourself you love you. How long did it take you to read that last sentence, because that's how long this book should have been.59 minutes of filler.
No, it hasn't turned me off, but it did made me feel duped.
He's got a good speaking voice. I have nothing against his performance.
Everything before and after he says, "Love Yourself." The rest of it was filler.
Yes, it gets back to basics and to the root of what we need to remember to live magical lives that contribute to ourselves and all others around.
"Live Your Truth" Kamal's second book. Same style, simple, easy flow, to the point.
The quality is great and Kamal has a very sweet voice.
What I like most about the book is the guts of the writer who is an entrepreneur in Sillicon Valley, a person we would not expect to come out and talk about love. A paradigm shift of sorts, and a brave one!
Kamal has been on the floor, sick and bordering death. It was then, at the darkest hour, that he had an epiphany and this book is born out of it. I read it and felt the love flowing through me, the importance of the message, the necessity of it right now, in my life.
I was taken aback by the the cover, but upon a second look I noticed that in this time of insanity we are living, where we constantly leave the mind unchecked and believe anything it says to be true, a time where contemplation and stillness are rare, loving ourselves is indeed necessary because our life does depend on it.
Kamal just really writes from the heart and this book just makes you better for having listened to it. Amazing.
I love to read!!!! Especially when I am driving.. I listen to my books almost everyday.
I absolutely loved this book. I started to listen to it again.
I loved that the author was real and honest about his depression and feelings toward life. It brought me to realize that we are not always able to Bosch back from things situations and people that try to make you miserable. I will diffenately listen again and again.
I love myself
The entire premise of this book comes down to you should just keep telling yourself over and over and over again that you love yourself. Literally. This is not self-help, self-development, or anything akin to value. It's an author who took a ridiculous whiny essay and built a social media and online campaign (including Audible reviews, it appears) to sell this thing to a lot of people (stupid me!) for almost $3. Lesson learned. Simply awful.
It was lacking in delivery and I felt the theme of creating a mantra for yourself was redundant. A short essay would of replaced the 1 hour our so of reading.
"The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz
this small piece served as a light and easy to digest snack for days when you are lacking in self-worth.
A great book, short and to the point. Just enough repetitiveness to make the idea and the feeling sink into your mind. Very insightful and helpful in times of hardship. Thank you Kamal.
If you are depressed, then this book for you!...You need to read this book. This book was recommended by James Altucher. The value you gain from this message far far more then the time and the price you pay.
the whole book could be summed up in one line. Overall a great listen - it's not crazy expensive which is why I bought it, however was disappointing with how short it was.
ps if your looking for the one line summary, it's on the cover of the book.
You are a badass - live your life and love you.
The one line summary
worth the read
Such a good read for such a short book, well worth the price
He describes a picture of despair that felt so native to me and then explains how he got out of it. Some great tips that I have brought into my life with good results so far!
