In December of 2011, I gave a talk to an audience of scientists, Pentagon officials, politicians, and CEOs on the secret of life and how I'd figured it out the previous summer. Afterward, people came up individually and told me how much what I'd shared meant to them. This book is based on the truth I spoke about. It's something I learned from within myself, something I believed saved me. And more than that, the way I set about to do it.
This is a collection of thoughts on what I learned, what worked, what didn't. Where I succeed and importantly, where I fail daily. The truth is to love yourself with the same intensity you would use to pull yourself up if you were hanging off a cliff with your fingers. As if your life depended upon it. Once you get going, it's not hard to do. Just takes commitment and I'll share how I did it.
It's been transformative for me. I know it will be transformative for you as well.

I've read -- and practiced what I've learned from -- hundreds of self help and spiritual books. This one struck a nerve deep inside me. Such a simple message, but so poignant in its delivery. I will listen to this again and again. I so hope he records his other books...it sounds like he's sitting on the couch talking directly to me. No woo-woo nonsense, no hackneyed old goal setting and uber efforting. Just a simple message that makes clear the answer to all our problems...loving ourselves. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!
Yes, it gets back to basics and to the root of what we need to remember to live magical lives that contribute to ourselves and all others around.
"Live Your Truth" Kamal's second book. Same style, simple, easy flow, to the point.
The quality is great and Kamal has a very sweet voice.
What I like most about the book is the guts of the writer who is an entrepreneur in Sillicon Valley, a person we would not expect to come out and talk about love. A paradigm shift of sorts, and a brave one!
Kamal has been on the floor, sick and bordering death. It was then, at the darkest hour, that he had an epiphany and this book is born out of it. I read it and felt the love flowing through me, the importance of the message, the necessity of it right now, in my life.
I was taken aback by the the cover, but upon a second look I noticed that in this time of insanity we are living, where we constantly leave the mind unchecked and believe anything it says to be true, a time where contemplation and stillness are rare, loving ourselves is indeed necessary because our life does depend on it.
What a waste of an hour of my time. Okay, I get it; we should love ourselves. And the only bit of instruction is to sit down for 7 minutes a day listening to a song you like telling yourself you love you. How long did it take you to read that last sentence, because that's how long this book should have been.59 minutes of filler.
No, it hasn't turned me off, but it did made me feel duped.
He's got a good speaking voice. I have nothing against his performance.
Everything before and after he says, "Love Yourself." The rest of it was filler.
I do not understand the poor reviews of this book. It was a pearl. I am very picky about narrators and I LOVED that it was performed by the author. He was humble, heartfelt and displayed a vulnerability that can only be claimed by a Phoenix. Loved it. I'm incorporating the meditation into my Miracle Morning.
Personally I related completely, thats exactly what i look for in books. His voice very soothing and genuine.
It increased my interest on different perspectives of viewing self love.
The author takes a personal method that worked for him and shares it. After reading it, i had to buy the audio for my long daily commute . I read it non stop on a bad night. It was like having someone by your side, helping you with your emotional breakdown and guiding you to a positive outlook. I personally LOVED it.
Nothing at all
Would recommend it for those who are ready to change for a better.
I love the way this was read to me, I felt he was just talking to me, yes from the heart and yes to his heart. For me this was a YES moment of course, I / we must love ourselves before we can love others. Enjoy :)
Kamal Ravikant reading of his own book was a great choice, he sounds very genuine, and his book was informative!
tq! it helps me even though im not in relationship tq very much
Our monkey mind repeat same story, same loop all time subconciously , n most dont serve us
So practically , is to transform it , practice it again n again , with emotion, with feeling and acceptance
Do it with enuf intensity over time so d mind hav no choice but to accept it , as it become primary loop , till become a filter to reality
I sometime feel not fulfilled in life if i didnt grow much , but i realize growth comes when real challenge , struggle
Ya this is what i learnt from the code , "the meaning machine" where we give meaning to event
How we give will affect believe in whole life
And i normally didnt choose it conciously
And this is a skill to practice d meaning i give to each event
The cadence of the read and the sound of his voice were trance-like, and the message was kind and captivating. This is a gem of a book for anyone looking for something true in life to which to anchor.
Such a good read for such a short book, well worth the price
He describes a picture of despair that felt so native to me and then explains how he got out of it. Some great tips that I have brought into my life with good results so far!
Listened to this in one go
"Simple and profound"
This is a simple story, told directly. I liked how immediately applicable it is. He says what he has to say and that's it; and it's totally do-able.
Honest, straightforward and helpful. A book with one simple message of love and the method of get there. I will read it over and over again.
This is an amazing short book, it can be life transforming when the techniques are applied
"Simple and effective"
A great listen for anyone who needs a simple and easily implementable mantra to change how they see themselves. A worthwhile 1 hour!
"This book is inspiring and life-changing."
Great book and inspiring from start to finish. In a way all that is said is common sense, but sometimes you need to hear it from the right people to apply it.
Love this book, listened to it in 24 hours and planning to listen to it again and again.
If it was read a little slower, it would be better, especially for people with different English accents like me.
Loved the content, thank you for sharing!!!
"So simple but so brilliant"
This should be taught in schools and shouted from the roof tops. It's brilliant and so important. If everyone applied this it would change the world.
read the book and audiobook and it is really unbelieveable. Thanks Kamal for your insights i can relate extremely well.
Having suffered from depression for most of my adult life , I look for ways to silence my inner critic and feel better about myself. This book certainly does that and I found it inspiring and more than that, it rung true.
Within 24hrs of syarting my meditations I am already using his method to change my thought processes and feel better and more hopeful because of it. Thank you Kamal for sharing your idea and for your convincing and soothing narration.
