When "You" are ready to change!

I must say, this book was at first hard to start because I was looking for a solution for someone else, but in my search found one for myself. Elizabeth Brown does a marvelous job equipping the reader with tools readily available to those who want to learn how to truly forgive, love and develop lasting bonds with people you have been at odds or in hateful relationships with. Loved it!!!

My Family

How did the Author get into my mother's house? It was so accurate, I actually cringed in some parts.

The best book!!

What did you love best about Living Successfully with Screwed-Up People?

She is so on target for me and my boyfriend. He is truly screwed up and doesn't even acknowledge it or know it. So good to hear someone tell me that I am not CRAZY! How to deal with these people is a challenge! I have to listen to this mp3 over and over. Very good! I recommend this book to anyone dealing with a difficult person, especially recovering addicts.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Living Successfully with Screwed-Up People?

Everything!

Have you listened to any of Pam Ward’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Good Listen (with a warning)

I liked this book and it is full of good advice. The book is far from concise with many examples and stories. The pledge at the end along with the last chapter really bring it all together. The narration is excellent.
WARNING - there are repeated references to the deaths of children. I was thinking this odd until the author disclosed in later chapters that her first book was on this topic and she frequently lectures on the subject. After the first story or two I couldn't take it and fast forwarded past those stories.

Relatable

What I liked most about this book is how the author took every concept and quickly related it to any situation and relationship in a simple and specific way. She took each concept and showed how whether it's a boss, parent, child etc or whether it's about work, home life, that it applies regardless of what situation you are in. She made each concept relate to the reader specifically in a simple way to understand and be able to apply each principle. The concepts themselves were wise and simple. Definitely a book that is recommended to anyone to read in any relationship or situation that requires any sort of second thought when dealing with another and how to apply yourself in any relationship.

Good instructions but poor explanations

The book had a lot of wisdom on what to do but I felt it lacked an explanation on how to do it. It made the comment of not taking things personally but did tell you how to not take that hurtful action personally.
