This book was a great dissapointment. I guess I was expecting too much from someone who is not practicing in the field of his topic. The author, although a renowned sugeon and having read widely on health and longevity has clearly not been studying in depth nor practicing in this field. I don't mind if an introductory lecture is so full of bland and overly simplified generalizations but a"classic series " should be more accurate and less tainted by personal bias.
Its complete and at best a qualified opinion that you tend to agree with

A great book for everyone who wants to know about health
The content is excellent but the disruptive recorded applause is frankly, annoying. The teaching company even does the applause during meditation sessions. Please consider stopping this practice. We all know the reader/instructor is not in front of an audience. They are in a studio with a mic in front of them. I like your audio book but ..
I appreciate Dr. Goodman's reasoned, science based medical advice. I love his refusal to agree that we need to be victims or to accept preventable disease as a normal part of aging. Eat whole, healthy foods, move your body and cultivate meaningful relationships!
I felt like I came to know Dr.Goodman. His lectures are very knowledgeable and relatable. I especially enjoyed his thoughts on Victor Frankl. I could do without the applause at the end of every chapter though. Definitely recommend this book!
Wonderful book with comprehensive explanation of how our body works which is based on substantial research and the author's expertise. Very easy to listen to for anyone interested in the subject. Lots of valuable information on various aspects of human life, culture, food, and exercise.
If I just could advice my son one book to read this would be Dr Goodman's. So thorough, knowledgeable, kind, warm and deeply useful that have changed my life for the better. Thank you for your lessons of life, sincerely, Dr Goodman. All the best from Spain!
The material wasn't as good as i had hoped, and it was streched out far too long. He too easily dismisses alternative health/medicine because there's not enough research/proof to back up the claims, yet advocates organic food but without providing the same reseaech/proof to back it up. It's not bad, but it's not great either. And it's unnecessarily far too long.
I'm half way through the book but I was so impressed so far that I wanted to rate it now...It has excellent information on how the body functions, what we can do to prevent diseases, improve lifestyle, and tons of other information that was an eye opener for me. I highly recommend it to any age.
