Publisher's Summary

Most people associate Hill Harper with Hollywood, as he's appeared in dozens of films and television shows. But he is just as comfortable in a school auditorium, rousing groups of students with his unique style of real-life wisdom. Having addressed thousands of high-school and middle-school students over the years, Hill is ready to take his message to an even wider audience. Letters to a Young Brother is drawn from the humbling life lessons he learned on the road to his Ivy League education and beyond. Inspired by the countless letters and e-mails he has received from teens, Hill Harper set out to write a series of letters to young people that would catch the attention of even the most reluctant readers.

The result is a motivational but approachable book full of encouragement on a wide array of hot topics, particularly among young African-American and Hispanic men. From the challenges of getting a good education and making it through college to the media's destructive emphasis on material wealth, Letters to a Young Brother delivers eye-opening answers. Reminiscent of Marian Wright Edelman's New York Times best seller, The Measure of Our Success: A Letter to My Children and Yours, Hill Harper's words will resonate for years to come.

"Double H, is on right time"

Thank you Double H! This book was right on time. Both my stepson and my nephew needed to hear your words of wisdom. We have communicated to them so many times that it is important to get an education. However, they did not listen and will spend their entire summer in school. Your words are confirmation of all of the things my husband and I sat down and talked with them about last night. We will definitely be listening to you and discussing what they have learned from your words of wisdom.

It's so refreshing to see a brother that knows the importance of and cares enough to take the time out of his busy schedule to sow words of wisdom into a young persons life. I love the way you keep it real with the young brothers(and sisters for that matter). This will be one of the books that my kids have to read(listen to) this summer. Keep imparting wisdom Hill, our brothers and sisters need it. I pray that this is the first of many books from you. Keep up the good work!

    "This is OUTSTANDING..."
Where does Letters to a Young Brother rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

... undeniably the most listened-to audiobook within our library of dozens.

What other book might you compare Letters to a Young Brother to and why?

I will go so far as to say that this work is incomparable to any other I've read. Hill Harper is so genuine, down-to-earth, personable and transparent that this has been beneficial to both my teens and myself.

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite chapters regard the significance of our choices and knowing the Power within each of us. And I am grateful that he chose to narrate this collection of letters himself. A heart-felt passion providing guidance and wisdom is heard throughout the entire read.

    Any additional comments?

Hopefully there will be more narrations available by this author. It's evident that a personal joy of Mr. Harper's is to motivate and inspire others, particularly our youth, towards their best life. (Thank you, Hill)

I look forward to enjoying his other books in both hard copy and audio formats!

"Thank you Hill, you made a difference."

My oldest son declares that this book to him is second only to the Bible in his life. He says along with his faith and family this book has been key to him making through some of the toughest times he has had in his last 3 years since graduation from highschool. I thank God for your gift ofcommunication and ministry. I thank God for my sister who chose to give this book as a graduation gift. I am praying that as my younger son and husbadn embark on experiencing this book through audio it will touch them as well.
