This is my favorite of the "Myths and Stories of the Wise Woman Archetype" series. Clarissa Pinkola Estes disassembles the negative cultural messages we receive about our bodies and provides a series of healing stories, images, and ideas which hold the body as sacred, unique, infinitely precious and idiosyncratic. She threads vivid and unique multicultural metaphors and tales throughout the sessions.
Her voice, pacing, and accents enrich the experience. Hers is a vibrant presence. She brings stories and ideas from many cultures and her language and accents vary by culture.
This is book I will listen to again and again. I could not fully integrate the wealth of knowledge, wisdom and healing in one "reading." Don't miss this unique experience.
Clarissa never fails her audience! Standing ovation! I follow her work and this may be my favorite! Healing...renewing! Must ad to your collection of favorites!
This recording is wonderful to listen to or fall asleep to
Clarissa Pinkola Estes has an absolutely beautiful voice, and is a superb storyteller
This book is chock full of wisdom about the body, and is told in such a way as to invite the listener into their own inner wisdom about the body
Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes is a powerful and engaging story teller. She makes you think about your own body in another way. The body is sacred and your companion on this journey and she wonderfully paints a picture of the bodies purpose and needs. She also does a blessing for your body after many chapters. It was yummy. I didn't want to stop listening. If you are a woman and want to look at bodies in another way, please listen to her ancient wisdom.
This book is full of wonderful tales that assist the listener in remembering to be thankful for their physical being. It's not my most favorite by dr. Estes but still really wonderful
Manages to engage and soothe simultaneously. This is Dr. Estes at her finest, wittiest best. I would recommend this book to anyone of any age.
"soothing and inspiring"
The authors voice is very pleasant and she has such an open and friendly manner of speaking to the listener. Soothing and enchanting stories which, after absorbing them, become more and more relevant.
