Publisher's summary

Celebrating the 75 anniversary of the original landmark bestseller How to Win Friends and Influence People, comes an up-to-the-minute adaptation of Carnegie’s timeless prescriptions for the digital age.

Dale Carnegie’s principles have endured for nearly a century. Since its original publication in 1936, his timeless classic How to Win Friends and Influence People has gone on to sell 15 million copies. Now, introducing new listeners to Carnegie’s words of wisdom, comes How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age, a new guide for a new era.

Dale Carnegie could never have predicted the trajectory that new media would take, and the ways that the simple television screen would be adapted into computers and handheld communication devices. He didn’t know the term “social media” and Facebook was something not even dreamed of in Buck Rogers cartoons. And yet his lessons remain relevant for everyone who communicates online today. In fact, with problems such as cyber bullying and email etiquette, we need Carnegie’s help more than ever. Dale Carnegie and Associates, Inc. has re-imagined Carnegie’s lasting lessons for this difficult digital age, reframing Carnegie’s insights about communication, self-expression, and leadership. This book is a must-have guide for anyone who wants to find success on Facebook, Linked-In, Twitter, and any social media format today and in the future.

So relevant in the Information Age

I am reading the original Dale Carnegie version while I listed to this audio. The audio includes powerful concepts of the book but what is most important is that there is so much research supported information to help one better communicate in today's age of quick electronic connections with others

Need to Hear this 2-3 a Year

I read the original version about 20 years ago. Now that I have a long commute to work, I decided to download the updated version and see if it was offering any new material/ideas. I was not disappointed. The information is not only relevant to today's social media fanaticism, it's also relevant to the timeless principles put forth by Dale Carnegie. I will be listening to this Audible book at least 2-3 times a year in order to keep myself sharp when it comes to dealing with people and maintaining relationships.

I wish I would’ve experienced this sooner

You probably value the way you treat people and the way you are perceived, whether altruistically or for gain. Carnegie humbly and illustratively shows each of us where our strengths and gaps help build others up or tear others down while providing just the spark and motivation needed to be change makers. Can’t wait to listen again soon.

Awesome!

Many years ago I read How to Win Friends and Influence People. It changed my life! It taught me the value of establishing true connections and ones that made people remember you. It helped me to be a leader on my jobs. This new edition “in the Digital Age” is helping me grow my small business and to use social media to help others connect with me and for me to connect with them. A must read for anyone over 40 who does not understand social media and wants to remain relevant. Dianne Shorte, founder of L.O.V.E. Ladies Operating Very Effectively www.veryeffectively.com
