Details details details

This Audio book is good, but I now want the reading version as there is so much detail that I want to reread it and have it for further study. The constant URLs were a bit annoying to have to listen to as well. Altogether this is a very well done account of proper planning, details and equipment for a TEOTWAWKI or SHTF scenario. A reader may not be able to do everything in this book to be ready but knowing this stuff will be more helpful than not even if you cant afford the cost $$$ of all the purchases needed to be this prepared. I read the Patriots as my first SHTF book and fell in love with it. This is a nice companion piece and (obviously) a how to!

Knowledge Is Power

Certainly will have to buy the paperback version, but the information is invaluable.
Mr. Rawles thinks of and discusses everything that needs to be considered for the time coming when our government declares marital law and/or economic collapes occures.
If BO gets re-elected it's a sure bet it'll be before the end of his reign as dictator and the utter destruction of the Constitution.
A MUST HAVE the kind of book you can listen to over and over again and gain Knowledge each time that will help you survive.

Like a board game you can never finish

I listened when the book came out, hoping to see how one could in theory survive as author tried to show. It's an exercise in futility. The author adds more necessities, provisions and skills for such survival until he's built an imaginary city.

The city imagined by the author gets more impractical as the book progresses. It needs so many things such as a standing army and departments of public works to compliment its factories. More and more specialists are needed, and they in turn need more goods and services.

The narration was inferior by today's standards. Book narration has come a long, long way in recent years. One has to listen at a higher speed to get through it, in my opinion.

Pretty comprehensive on the concept

You can tell this author knows what he is talking about because he is into it fully. He lives the life and does the prepping himself. The book is a wealth of information. Sometimes reading off the bullet lists can put you to sleep while driving, is overcome by the vast array of knowledge and information you can get from this. Overall, the information is well rounded and opens your eyes a bit on what prepping for an emergency or even a few short days without power. I recommend you get this one if any of the set of these types. Then judge for yourself and follow up. I just realized how lacking I was recently with my few token preparations, so I'm doubling up on the base effort. Get it. Worth the credit. You don't have to have an end of world situation for this book to help you.

A list of lists. Not a story. Exactly what it says

not a story or a blueprint. A simple guide for planning a safer future. Better than insurance.

Some good, some bad, even a little ugly.

The information in this book is dated. Some of the the websites and products mentioned may no longer be available. There is some good information here , but it is mixed with bad information, too. Sanitary napkins to stop bleeding? Nope, not recommended. Buy gold and silver for currency? Meh, useful in only a few specific scenarios. This might be a good starting point for someone to be prepared, but there are better books. Buy a more general book that discusses planning, and then get excellent books in specific areas like first aid, food storage, etc. that’s my advice and opinion, for what it’s worth.
