Publisher's summary

Today's world is charging at a breakneck speed. People are working over 12 hours every single day, catching extra minutes of sleep in the metro, and completely giving up on the antiquated notion of time to spend with their own kids. There are people in their 20s looking twice as old as they should, who neglect every single aspect of their lives but their careers.

And one person out of four dies from cardiovascular disease, caused mostly by unhealthy eating, a lack of physical activity, smoking, consuming too much alcohol, and worthless junk food, which clogs their arteries.

This book will teach you how to step away from noise, relax, and recharge your batteries so you have enough left in you to control your life. Here are some of the things you'll learn:

  • Why rituals create your life and how to develop a proper morning routine to ensure a calm mind.
  • Three main stress management techniques for recharging that you're probably not aware of. They can make you well-rested or, if you disregard them, extremely exhausted.
  • How to get away from highly stimulating surroundings to recharge in peace. If you live in a city, you must hear this chapter.
  • How to let go of negative, nagging thoughts you can't get out of your head. You don't have to carry them with you all the time.
  • Seven powerful habits to reduce stress. And no, I'm not talking about obvious advice. You'll discover how to exactly reduce stress with lesser-known tips.

This is your chance to find out what the hard science says about how to become more relaxed. You too can finally recharge your batteries and regain control over your life. Learn how.

Good but not the first book

What made the experience of listening to How to Relax the most enjoyable?

I lessen to his books to get information and he and he gets his points across quickly and accurately and then moves on to the next subject. That alone makes it easy for me to pay attention and not drift off.

What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Relax?

For me it was the part about meditation a lot of other books talk about it but don't give you enough instructions on how to start doing it.

Have you listened to any of John Gagnepain’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have lessened to him perform the other books in martin meadows series and this one was abut the same not that that is a bad thing he is a clear easy to understand speaker.

What did you learn from How to Relax that you would use in your daily life?

The importance of setting a morning routine.

Waste of money

This book was way too basic. Anyone could have come up with most of these suggestions.

It depends on how much you know

I have given all of Martin Meadows’ books a five star rating. The only reason I am giving a four star rating to this is because the majority of the strategies are those that I already implement. With that being said, the bonus chapter was the pot of gold for me. This book is particularly great for those who are beginning their quest of simplifying and calming their day today life.

Great Short Audio Summing Up How To Enjoy Life

I've heard or read every at one point of time. However, since I'm still looking for a book like this I've obviously haven't applied it all yet. This is where this book comes in handy. I don't appreciate books that takes 6+ hours to inform me about the same things this author manages to summarize in a very. short time.
All in all, just the book I needed.
Great audio book

A good companion to the Kindle Book

I own the Kindle book, but the author was offering a deal where he'd provide a free copy of the audiobook in exchange for a review. I liked the book a lot, so why not. Overall, I like the book. I generally don't care for the narrator (I have most of Martin's Audibooks, and John Gagnepain reads all of them), but he's starting to grow on me. Maybe it's just because I've listened to him so many times.

Like a lot of Martin's books, this one is heavily footnoted, which doesn't translate well to audio format. For that reason, I recommend the kindle version first. It's a short read/listen, so either way is fine, I just like being able to go right to the footnotes if I find a topic I want to know more about. That said, the audio is a great companion for the kindle version, especially when you want a refresher. The end of each chapter is a short recap, and that works out very well to listen to on audio. All in all, I like the audiobook. If I had to choose either this or the kindle version, I'd get the kindle one, but the books & audiobooks are so inexpensive, that it's not a bad idea to grab both.

Good content, but struggled with the narration

The content of this book was good. The narration was not enjoyable nor relaxing. I would've enjoyed it more of it were narrated by someone with a richer, fuller, calmer voice quality. His voice frequently sounded strained.
