...simple to follow instructions to getting into a better dating situation. He gives a great picture and diagnosis of why many people don't have success with dating, and a few good strategies for developing the skill.
I did not give it five stars because:
- it seems like most of the book is written for women. Men need help too, and in many cases more than women
- the advice given to men is a bit simplistic. Go out and talk to more women. Really? It really is that simple bit the mental blocks need to be addressed before action takes place.
The book has good ideas. But please be aware that this is definitely not an unabridged book. It's about the same length as the abridged version. It's no where near 4 hours long.
The relationship and dating advice in this program is good. It helped me see the bigger problems with a recant relationship that ended badly for me and I'm going to take the advice in this program moving forward. But it gets a lower score overall for me because of the heavy amount of christian/bible preaching. This is more of a personal thing with me as I am an atheist. But I will always listen to anyone's opinion and research to help me grow, as a person and intelligence. A lot of what's covered makes since and is something to keep in mind when out there dating and in more serious relationships. Worth a read even to the non christian (just roll your eyes at those parts, it helps).
Pros: Describes how to attract and involve yourself around other people that you may not think are your type and how to be patient in being yourself and learning a person. Amazing advice and inspirational book .
CONS: Very repetitive book so you will read the same sentences in every other chapter. I am a smart person. I do not need to have some of main points repeated over and over again
Great book as it point out the things we are doing wrong but don't realize it. Get this before you miss a good one
"insightful and clear advice on dating"
I recommend this book highly. I think it provides clear, realistic advice. Empowering advice. As you go throught it, the author provides the biblical basis for the advice. As a Christian I value this. I don't think, though, that it will get in the way of any non Christian enjoying, understanding and benefitting from the advice (speaking as someone who was a non Christian for a large part of my life).
