Story
There’s a new invisible force at work in our economic and cultural lives. It affects every advertisement we see and every product we buy, from our morning coffee to a new pair of shoes. “Stakeholder capitalism” makes rosy promises of a better, more diverse, environmentally friendly world, but in reality, this ideology, championed by America’s business and political leaders, robs us of our money, our voice, and our identity.

Publisher's summary
For thousands of readers in their 30s and 40s, Bob Buford's best-selling book Halftime has proved a wise guide for the special challenges of midlife. This audio version shares principles that can help you move from success to the significance you're looking for in life's second half.
If you're at the transition, Buford invites you to take a personal "halftime": time to reevaluate who you are, what you have to offer God's kingdom - and what it will take to make your coming years most rewarding. In tape two, Buford helps you set in motion the principles described in Halftime.
Game Plan discusses how a personal strategy can help you maximize the impact you were designed for. You'll look at where you are in life and where you're best suited to go. And you'll learn about forming a place that can help you reach your goal.
Halftime and Game Plan help you maximize your time, energy, spiritual gifts, and natural talents. You'll learn how to avoid aimless searching and costly mistakes - and make the second half of your life really count.
Critic reviews
"... the catalyst for all those who are the beneficiaries of the two great social developments of this century: the extension of life span ...and the fact that it is now possible to be a 'success' and to make a life out of one's living." (Peter Drucker)

Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Compass-like....
This is a book with very appropriate information for people in this phase of life. Being in a different socio- economic reality than the author (I am in Africa and not wealthy.... yet) asked for some adaptation. My wife took akin to it which speaks volumes of its relevance as she is a very picky reader.
