If you are a healer, or know someone who is, then you are probably well aware of the enormous challenges of this life path. Choosing to be a healer, teaches Caroline Myss, comes with serious spiritual and energetic demands, and it is crucial to understand and prepare for them. With Caroline Myss' Essential Guide for Healers, the best-selling author of Sacred Contracts shares her most valuable insights and recommendations for health care professionals, counselors, therapists, bodyworkers, and anyone serving to heal others. Drawing on her own experience as a medical intuitive (one who discerns illness and its root causes in the body), Caroline Myss invites listeners to explore:
The first tenet of any healer is: Care for yourself. Now, here is an unprecedented new resource for anyone seeking to cultivate the spiritual foundations of this calling.

I almost passed up this gem due to the poor review listed here but as a person who has benefited greatly by Myss's program Sacred Contracts, I found this offering very worthwhile. If you are familiar with the concepts that support archetypal patterns in our lives and if you are even remotely interested in the healing arts, you will enjoy Myss's unique insight into the challenges faced by anyone who practices these arts. I especially appreciated her comments on burnout which I've identified as an ongoing issue for so many of us.
This was required reading/listening for a shamanic class I took and I am sooo glad I "read" it. Caroline Myss, in her inimitable style, lays it out for the energy healers of today. Sound advice, cautions and the occasional yank of the chain are dispensed. I found it VERY enlightening (no pun intended) and plan to get all of her books.
Talked more about the power of love.
Caroline talks as if she is angry at people who try to heal as they work on there stuff.
NO wast of money and time.
Healing is about an open heart and love. Not this book.
I was hoping this was more about strengthening spiritual healing, but it is geared toward people in the medical profession. Very dry - I couldn't get past the first 25 minutes.
If you listened to her lecture once you have heard it all. The same stories are cited in this as in Sacred contracts as in Energy Anatomy as in Call to a Symbolic life. It is a shame because I really love her work it is just that all of these go over the same thing and in listening to just the little sample I did not get the clue that it was so much of the same material. I certainly will not buy another of her books (lectures) until she gets some new material
I began listening to this book and thought, wow she sounds angry and uncompassionate, but thought maybe I can learn something.
As I continued listening to the book there were many moments I was appalled by her statements and downright knew her understanding of the topic was tainted by her lack of compassion. Maybe all those hot dogs have lowered her body frequencies to that of hate and discontent. I hope that any healers that read her books will take it as a grain of salt, the world needs less hate. I will steer clear of any other books she wrote as she is clearly "off"
My advice to you Caroline is to live with more love and compassion in your heart. Take a break, you may need it to regain that which started you in this field.
Carolyn Myss excels herself once again - Love her work! Her honesty is brilliant....I recommend for anyone in the healing industry to listen to this....

This is really worth listening to.
"Food for thought"
Even if you are not a healer per sè, it's well worth a listen if you are interested in getting involved.
I think there is valuable information there for anyone who has an open mind and an open heart.
If you are already working in healing, need some guidance from a business perspective then you should definitely listen to this.
I believe she has the right ideas and makes you take a good hard look at yourself and who you are before you can work with other people.
I enjoyed it.
