MALE NARRATORS stop using your "WOMAN" voice

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I might recommend this book, but I have found other books such as "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" more helpful. Who can live up to that book though

What didn’t you like about Tom Parks’s performance?

I have had this problem with many male narrated books, most especially regarding personal development. When they gets to a womans "voice" they get high pitched and whiney. Please just stop.

So many people need to read this! Glad I did!

I truly truly love & believe in this whole concept! it's something I've always strived to do h didnt even realize it. Now I really want to take the EQ test. I want my husband to read it now, my kids to be taught this (more intentionally) and it's even a great sort of "training" to implement at work! So glad I came across this. Heard of it at a networking event by Dan Leonard where the whole event was centered around this idea & downloaded it.. so glad I did!! Share it.. read it & more than anything 》》 APPLY IT !! 《《

Terrible acoustics but good message.

The narrator sounds like he's in a tin can. The acoustics are terrible. The book reads like a cheap info-mercial. Once you get past these ear-jarring bad qualities, the message of the book is good. I have a problem with the book's message "treat others as they want to be treated". It does not explain how to deal with an abusive relationship, especially a one sided one where the other party continuously shows disrespect despite the first party taking the high road time after time.

Enlightening

This is a good introduction to EQ. I enjoyed taking a peek at how different people have various emotional skill levels. I feel the whole concept of the book is well supported by the cited research and case studies. It is a complicated subject. The keys for change are discussed at length but only true study and focused application will offer personal improvement. I listened to it several times to attempt to grasp the concepts. It was shocking and disappointing to notice my trigger reactions in stressful emotional situations. I did successfully apply a few of the concepts in minor personal and professional instances. I will buy the book and see if I can start a journey of EQ development.

Review

This far this book is quite interesting, but the narrator is awful, for me, it’s definitely affecting my “want” to listen rather than read.

Not the best for audio

This book is not a bad one, but not suitable for the audio format. I'd prefer to just read it.
