great book about PTSD. most people will relate to some or most of this subject. at one point or another we have all dealt with some degrees of PTSD. do not be misled by the somewhat corny book title. it is worth the time to read or listen to this book at least twice.
some good information, but over all overwhelming. acording to the author life is toxic and creates histamine reactions. the book is all about consuming to combat histamine. less about sparkle and more about diet.
I love Doreen and her works. I do have some input for the audiobook:
In the audio version, it is very difficult to listen to the lists. Most audio books offer a free PDF when they have a lot of "data" in them. This is especially true with books going over a diet. Listening to someone read a list of items is not easy.
If you are a beginner in this area (motivation, etc), you will like this book. Most of the concepts are for those who are new to her works, or are new to this concept.
Listening to her read lists of items that were very long in the audiobook.
She didn't sound happy. This was probably due to reading data that is not the best suited for the audiobook format.
Way too much detail & simplistic. It was difficult to listen to. Perhaps good for an absolute beginner to the path but for a seasoned explorer not anything new and a lot of repetition.
Not from the genre but I will think again before buying Doreen Virtues books. Some of her more recent books come across as just pushing out material vs. quality. I completely appreciate & respect her just not this book, especially.
Good for an absolute newbie maybe.
Lovely insights into relationships and good advice on food. It was easy listen and many tips on self improvement.
"The title is misleading"
I have read this authors work before and it has always been inspiring but this book has lost its sparkle. Just list after list of stuff/problems/situations and very therapy based and although I'm sure the authors intent was to inform and provide resources... it didn't inspire me
