The unstoppable, irreverent mother-daughter team presents a new collection of funny stories and true confessions that every woman can relate to. From identity theft to the hazards of bicycling to college reunions and eating on the beach, Lisa and Francesca tackle the quirks, absurdities, and wonders of everyday life with wit and warmth. As Lisa says, "More and more, especially in the summertime when I'm sitting on the beach, I'm learning not to sweat it. To go back to the child that I used to be. To see myself through the loving eyes of my parents. To eat on the beach. And not to worry about whether every little thing makes me look fat. In fact, not to worry at all."
So put aside your worries and join Lisa and Francesca as they navigate their way through the crazy world we live in, laughing along the way.

"Scottoline's Philly accent and expressive speaking style add to the humor of the stories. Serritella also sounds approachable as a young woman who is trying to navigate life, friendship, and love in the city. The stories--by and large light, easy, and fun--are perfect for a relaxed summer day." (AudioFile)
I have not read the print version, but Lisa is amazing she needs to narrate her books more.
They are both my favorite, I feel like I could relate to both.
I enjoyed the part where Lisa mentioned that when something happens to you in life you have to look for the lesson.
When mother Mary passed away, also when Francesca filed her grandmothers nails. I cried it made be think of my grandmother.
The book is great, I can't wait to download the rest of her books.
I would not read another book by these authors.
Their timing in reading what are supposed to be funny lines is awful. I'm 30% into the book hoping it will get better but will move on to something else. It's not worth my time to finish.
I love audiobooks. I love humor. These authors rank in my top two with the Stephanie Plum books.
A little like Nora Ephron.
I am in my 50s. All comments about growing older and the struggles rang true. Dating through the eyes of a 28 year old are a fun thing to remember.
Be careful driving and operating machinery while listening to this book. It is so funny, and it is heartwarming as well. I feel as if I know this mother and daughter team. Please download and listen with caution. This southerner got a kick out of the Philly accents. I am downloading every book they have. I love Lisa's series with the women lawyers, but this is pure FUN!
I purchased this book because it was on sale and I have not read anything by Lisa's the line. I am sorry that I bought the book and have requested my $33.95 back! This is technically not a book with a storyline it is a collection of rambling unconnected blog post written by a mother and a daughter and it's impossible to tell who was talking at any point in time.
One post was about the infestation of fleas and the growth of the fleas from larva to Philly and how gross it was and it was pretty gross in her description! Another post was about the movie stars posting naked pictures on the website of them selves and getting mad because other people were posting naked pictures of them too! It is just a jumble of a bunch of things that happened to a couple if women and the topics are not any thing like a storyline. I was very disappointed!!! I thought I had found a new author with new series go listen to.
I am an author and a librarian, and I happily now live in the realm of audio books.
They're not the most profound columns I have ever read, but Does This Beach Make Me Look Fat? often hits home with it unpretentious commentaries on life and relationships. My favorite column happened to be the one about going ballistic when discovering a dog locked in a car. Been there; done that. This book is a refreshingly light read, funny enough to make you at least crack a smile. Columns are short, snappy and to the point. When you reach a column that relates to you, it's uncanny how spot on the author is.
One of those books you can read on a plane and if you fall asleep don't worry about going back just start where you finished. Easy to listen even funny sometimes but I won't buy it at full price or hardcover, not worse more than $5 and that what I paid for it. Too much crying about ex boyfriends, husbands and weight problems, made me yawn towards the middle. But again it might be just your piece of pie :)
I totally loved this book and the stories from both Francesca and Lisa. I can't wait for the new book!
