I wasn't sure what to expect from this CD and actually bought it for my daughter. The first night I lay there listening to it, thinking that in concentrating on the words, it wasn't working and was keeping me awake. Next thing I knew I was alseep! I don't even know what the Cd says after about the first 2-3 minutes as I'm always asleep by then. It gives you a deep, restful sleep too. I used to wake up during the night and couldn't get back to sleep, but not more. This tape is highly recommended!
I have a very hard time getting relaxed prior to sleep. I have been using this for over 8 months and everythime I listen I will fall asleep and seem to sleep well.
Psychosomatic or not, this book has given me a feeling of better sleep. Being self-employed, sleep tends to take a back seat to running my business. For several months I felt unrested no matter how much sleep I would get. Generally I could get about 7 hours on a good night.
After purchasing this book and listening to it every night since, I feel much more rested the morning after. I am not sleeping more; if anything, I am sleeping less.
It did take several sessions to get over his voice and the general humor in what I was listening to. Less sarcastic people may not have to adjust.
I highly recommend this recording.
Very good. I have had sleepproblems for years.Been trying several other programs with little success.This one worked very well UNTIL a voice loudly explains: "WE HOPE YOU HAVE ENJOYED THIS PRODUCTION OF AUDIBLE". And it can not be edited out on Itunes.I must say very poor of Audible
I sleep like a log after listening to this, and wake very much refreshed. Great alternative to taking a sleeping tablet. Yes his accent is irritating at first, but you do get used to it (and it is NOT an Australian accent, its an east London one)
The Internet made me lose the joy of reading for a while there. Thanks to audio books I'm making my way back.
To these American ears, Mr. Harrold's voice is not particularly soothing upon first listen. But now that I've grown used to him--"deeper and deepah"; what?--his voice is just the thing to knock me right out.
I never hear the Audible.com blurb because my mp3 player has a sleep timer, which I set for 30 minutes. Someday, I hope to make it to the end of part 1 of this audio book before falling asleep.
I would not recommend this to anyone; his voice is abrasive, and not relaxing at all; so annoying that it in fact wakes you up
Please make sure to listen to the sample before you buy this book. I found the narration to be overdone and oversimplistic. Not that I need anything complex before bed, but it is dumbed down to a large extent. After all, its not supposed to be a kids nursery rhyme or bedtime story.
