It's pretty impossible to overcome fear when you don't have a lot of confidence in yourself or others. This is a great book to help you learn how to build up your confidence so that when things happen, you are able to stand on your own two feet and hold your head up. It's sure not easy, especially when life hits you hard. But if you seek out help in building your confidence, life's angry blows won't be as hard to get through.
I really like this audio. The narrator has a great voice and all the information is presented clearly and concisely. It is full of hundreds of ways and things that can help improive confidence and overcome fear. I found it best to just choose five things from the audio to focus on and work on those and then come back to the other ideas later. The breathing exercises where very helpful, especially in super stressful situations and the confidence strategies fit in well for getting prepared for scary situations. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to be more confident and less fearful in their life.
Yes, I feel I would listen to "Confidence: Overcome Fear" again. It is so important to overcome any fear and anxiety you may feel because you are not confident about who you are. There are so many strategies in this book that can help you through these issues, and many of them cam be handled in different ways. If you listen again, you may hear a different way of conquering a specific bad habit, for example.
In the book "Confidence: Overcome Fear" there are no characters. The only two people that you can even remotely consider characters would be Ace McCloud who wrote the book, and Joshua Mackey who was the narrator. If I had to choose, I would say that I like them both. I like Ace because because all of his books are great reads, or easy to listen to, and follow. Although, I like Joshua Mackey because he brings all of Ace's words to life!!
The only character that Joshua Mackey performed was that of the narrator. I have always enjoyed listening to his voice in these audio books because he speaks to his audience so they can fully understand what they cannot see in front of them, as with a regular book.
The idea that I will remember from this book is, "You are the most important person in your life. So when you treat yourself badly, and you tell yourself you are not worthy of certain things, you are hurting yourself more. The most important relationship, you should have is with yourself." It is important for someone like me to know that no matter how many times I may get knocked down, that with confidence and faith, I can lift myself right back up again.

Yes, I would recommend this book. I have several friends that need it. They are painfully shy and afraid of what people say about them. This book will help them, I'm sure. It teaches you how to overcome your fears and become more confident in yourself. You have to banish fear in order to be come confident.
I would compare it to "The Science of Fear" by Daniel Gardner, which goes more into why the brain identifies fear and how to deal with it on a psychological basis. Mr. Mcloud's audio book goes more into what you can do all by yourself to get rid of fear and become more confident. It also discusses brain science and the Lizard Brain, but there is more practical ideas to put into action that anyone can do.
I did read the book too, but since I travel a lot, I like to get audio books to play while I drive. Joshua Mackey is a great narrator and he puts great emphasis on just the right words in order to get the idea across in the simplest and easiest way. I may have glossed over some of the parts of this book and didn't pay much attention. In fact, when i was listening to the audio book I kept thinking, where was this in the print book. I don't remember this. I especially appreciated listening to how to do breathing exercises to dispel fear and could do it to practice while I was driving.
It made me think, Why didn't I think of this before! Many of the methods to increase confidence and decrease fear are super simple and I don't know why I didn't think of it. Anyone can do the techniques in this book to become a less fearful and confident person.
I especially appreciated the goal setting step by step process in the confidence part of the book. It will help many people become more confident. There is also step by step guides on how to get rid of irrational fears that will benefit anyone's life.
Build up your confidence with this book and then listen to the overcoming fear book to learn how to overcome some of your biggest fears. The confidence you made from the first book will help you out significantly in your push forward.
"Overcoming Fear and Gaining Confidence"
These are two areas that I have always battled with throughout my life. From a very young age I have let fear and a lack of confidence overwhelm and consume me to the point that it really held me back from taking any risks or accepting exciting opportunities.
I am really grateful for these guides as its really helped me to see how step by step how fear can be overcome and how important it is to do so. I have put a plan in place using the advice given and hope to see the desired results.
The book on confidence is full of very simple and practical advice to help you develop self confidence. It is easy to blame others for a low opinion of one self but this book helped me to see that I have a lot more power to control how I feel than I ever thought possible.

I found these books extremely helpful particularly ‘Confidence’; being someone who struggles with self-confidence and low self-esteem, this book incredibly helped me to learn how to eliminate negativity that I constantly used to listen to and how strengthening my relationship will result in my confidence growing and my low self-esteem vanishing.
Also I, for one, know it’s not easy eliminating and disregarding fears so being someone who has many worries and fears, ‘Overcome your fears now!’ was a wonderful read; it showed me ways on dealing with these fears and strategies on eliminating these fears so I can live a healthy and successful life, whatever the fears may be.
Once again this was a wonderful listen and I would recommend this to anyone who wishes to gain confidence or even improve their confidence and eradicate those fears.

This book on building confidence and overcoming fear is so helpful and offers great value as a 2 for 1. The books really complement each other and the advice is broken down into key areas and easy to follow.
I really enjoyed the way the author takes you through different scenarios and explains how you can manage them. My favourite part was where I learnt about some of the habits and exercises you can employ that will help build confidence. This was tremendous.
I also liked the sections on breathing techniques for dealing with fear, as well as the step-by-step action plan for planning on dealing with and controlling fear.
This was an excellent listen and highly recommended for those who seek advice for dealing with these areas.

Confidence contains excellent self help content presented in a professional manner. Like many people, I am confident in areas of my life where I feel comfortable and capable, but I struggle when faced with something new. Social confidence is an area that I was looking to strengthen when I purchased this book and it did not disappoint. The author discusses aspects of life that can affect our confidence – both negatively and positively. Then he moves on to strengthening self confidence and truly unravels the subject, both explaining his suggestions and linking to other resources along the way.
Overcoming Fear takes a holistic look at being human and how to empower yourself, whatever it is you want to overcome. I was left feeling that anything is possible and that I could overcome fearfulness with a positive strategy. Highly uplifting! The topics covered range from physiology to visualisation, confrontation to tapping (Emotional Freedom Therapy). The audio also benefits from excellent narration, as Joshua’s positivity champions you as you listen. Very useful and encouraging.

I've never been particularly confident and it's always something that has held me back in both my professional and personal lives. I bought this book to try and fix that.
