A happy surprise
When I heard the author was reading the book I had concerns. I think this book was infinitely better because he read his book. I loved his personality and struggles as there came through in his voice, and he bonus adds as well!

Enjoyed this book
I bought this for my 5 hour flight to Seattle and listened to it the whole way there. I didn't learn anything I haven't heard before, but I did enjoy listening to James read his own book. If you are unhappy or are looking for ways to improve your life and are unfamiliar with the subject, I would recommend this book. If you've read similar books you may not find it worth your time, but you can always learn something from anything you read.

Could've been very good...
The concepts, daily habits, eat well, free your mind, free your soul, be creative daily, etc. are good advise, nothing transforming, but good advise never the less.
The language, profanity, big bang theory, etc. really hurt the experience instead of creating the sense of honesty and transparency the author is trying to convey.
It would be hard to recommend this book without giving the proper warnings such as "A few truths from a poor soul author.."

Glad I chose this book
I heard James Altucher's TedTalk, very articulate, helpful content. I really appreciated his ideas, ways of seeing things differently. If you are interested in personal growth, other ways to think and get motivated, this book has great ideas and helpful analogies to illustrate his points.

very inspirational
i have read/listened to a lot of 'success books or self helping books' and i have to say that James is doing a great job to take him self and others to the next level.
his approach i for what i know unique. he shows specific steps to take to not only improve your business but to improve your self which automatically leads to a bigger business, better relationships, a healthier life & a healthy body & mind.

This may appeal to the younger generation more as there is too much swearing and the political stances really doesn't need to be part of this. the author doesn't really seem to be reading what is written, instead he ad-libs in the audio book. Mixed feeling about that. Almost like listening to talk radio.
