Editorial reviews

Entrepreneurs thrive on inspiration, and Chicken Soup for the Entrepreneur's Soul offers plenty to stoke the imagination and spur success. Narrated warmly by voice performer Alan Robertson, tales in this collection include the founding story of Tom's of Maine, as told by owner Tom Chappell, cottonfield hospitality success story The Shack Up Inn's creation, and the eclectic multiple successes of Bob Young, founder of Lulu.com and owner of Red Hat and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Throughout, Robertson's confident performance provokes listeners to get off the couch and do what it takes to make that great idea a reality.

Publisher's summary

Fulfill your dreams....

Chicken Soup for the Entrepreneur's Soul is a compilation of short stories from entrepreneurs, both large and small, who share their experiences of success, failure and courage, with a little helpful advice mixed in.

Many of these stories, told for the first time here, will enlighten you to new methods of entrepreneurship or simply help you believe in the possibilities of getting started. People such as Doris Christopher, a stay-at-home mother, who introduced her love of cooking to others through founding The Pampered Chef; Thom Chappell, who stuck to his instincts when developing Tom's of Maine and kept value at the core of his business; and Carol Gardner who intimately shares a desperate time of debt and divorce, until along came a bulldog named Zelda, followed by a greeting card line - Zelda Wisdom - which became one of Hallmark's number-one sellers. These entrepreneurs and many more will inspire you with their amazing life experiences and fascinating beginnings.

Great!

Absolutely LOVED this! Would however like to make a suggestion. It would be great if the stories about ladies could be read by a lady. The rest was amazing

Loved it. Inspired

I enjoyed this book so much. It struck so many nerves. My husband and I started our business 5 years ago when we were homeless due to a foreclosure on our home. As we are on the brink of selling our business, I listened to this book.
Although I will miss my baby, I know she is gonna grow in the hands of her new owners. I am inspired by all those before me with little money and big dreams in this book.
And as I lay in my king size bed in my house on two acres... with the extra cash for things like ebooks... we are proof also that dreams can come true with hard work, vision and dedication.
Now onto the next venture... we have notebooks full!

Good stories but needs updating

I liked it, but some stories need updating. For example talking about Circuit City and CarMax. Do you remember Circuit city???
