In this program, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching and has created 81 distinct essays on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Lao-tzu to today's modern world. This work contains the entire 81 verses of the Tao, compiled from Wayne's researching of 10 of the most well-respected translations of text that have survived for more than 25 centuries. As Wayne says, "This is an audiobook that will forever change the way you look at your life, and the result will be that you'll live in a new world aligned with nature. I'm so proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought me."

There is so much wisdom jam packed into this book. It moves really quickly so I recommend listening to it in small bites with some reflection time in between. The effort Dr Dyer went to in order to help modern audiences understand these ancient teachings is palpable. The style in which it is written won't be everyone's cup of tea but there is definitely a wealth of insight here which makes it a worthwhile read regardless.
3 out of 5 stars
The one thing most of us have in common is the need to search for answers. The questions may be different but the need is the same. I can't say that this book answers my questions but it did make me ask new ones. Those new questions made me explore deeper within myself...taking a harder, clearer look at myself. Although I didn't find this book to be particularly deep or any more insightful than other books in this genre it's a place to start.
I do think the audio version is better. Hearing the information over and over again is very welcoming to allow it to "set in"
If you put in place the recommendations Wayne Dyer makes in this book, you can truly change your life. Just listening to this book and allowing his words to resonate within you, can literally bring a relaxed feeling while your listening to this book. Real world tools and examples on how to bring balance to your thoughts, your life, your body. I have listened to this book atleast 5 times. I have it on in the background while cleaning the house, driving the car, and walking. Instant calm and resonating Ah Ha! moments follow chapter by chapter. Do the Tao now ;) Love Wayne Dyer, and everything he has written.
According to the intro, the author had an epiphany after reading Chinese spiritual texts. He then fell into a common trap -- mistaking the creation for the creator. Wasn't the book I was expecting.
This a transformative gift . We should be happy that Wayne Dyer has given us a vehicle that shows how to live in harmony with the Way of God and his creation called Nature.
