In this program, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching and has created 81 distinct essays on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Lao-tzu to today's modern world. This work contains the entire 81 verses of the Tao, compiled from Wayne's researching of 10 of the most well-respected translations of text that have survived for more than 25 centuries. As Wayne says, "This is an audiobook that will forever change the way you look at your life, and the result will be that you'll live in a new world aligned with nature. I'm so proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought me."

This is definitely in the top 3.
Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has done an incredible job. You feel like listening to him time and time again. His essays about Tao's verses are very useful and applicable for everyday life.
He reads with contagious passion.
This morning for example I was listening about utter respect for life. His words about acceptance of circumstances are also quite inspiring.
I absolutely recommend this profound book. I loved his book "Your Erroneous Zones" about twenty-years ago, and I still remember some of the good points he made there. It has been a pleasure to witness his evolution and his new work. As with any other book of similar topics, if for some reason you don't like it so much you should try it again maybe one or two years later, when maybe you are ready for it. This was the case for me and I'm really happy I gave it another try.
It's just a really great collection of inspiring thoughts and truths, told from the perspective of his Daoism, and presented in a way that basically anyone of any faith can appreciate it.
I would listen to this audibook again. I have recently started listening to Wayne Dyer and I enjoy his perspective.
There was a little cussing in this version that I did not enjoy.
Will listen to this book for the rest of my Life
Power of Now by Tolle
I appreciate Wayne Dyer's presentation of the Tao - he does a great job of relating it to current lifestyles, work, relationships.
What's frustrating about the Audible edition of his book is that the producers missed a key point in his introduction about how the book should be used. Each of the 81 verses is meant to be presented as a separate chapter, to be read and "processed" at a rate of one verse per day.
But the audiobook does not follow this format. Verses are presented back-to-back, with no chapter breaks or bookmarks - not even a musical cue (as in some of Dr. Dyer's other audiobooks) to let you know that one verse is ending and another is about to start. There are "chapters", but they seem to have no relationship to the content. Instead, each chapter is about 65 minutes long - I'm guessing that corresponds to the length of the audio CD's.
Providing a separate chapter for each verse would allow the listener to easily repeat the verse of the Tao that precedes Dr. Dyer's discussion. One could click forward through the chapter tracks to hear just the Tao verses alone - or find verses that applied to specific situations.
Grandma bibliophile! Audible books make reading with an active life possible.
I love how Dr Dyer was able to put the Tao in a contemporary livable style. I have to say I nodded off a couple of times and had to rewind to listen again, but he has a very mellow voice and I like to think it was close to meditation! LOL. I'm at the age I nod off easily anyway so I can't really blame him, it's not a thriller/mystery. (which I've also nodded off listening to) OK, back on topic, this book places the Tao in an appropriate day to day easily understood, but hard for me to practice, just because I'm me, and good for me to think about way to observe things. I do want to be a better person, and I'm definitely not at the level to put all these things in practice, nor do I want to. Take what you like and leave the rest, it's got far too many good ideas not to listen!!!!
This book is a true inspiration and I would recommended to anyone who is willing to learn how to live a peaceful life.
It's a philosophy and a way of life. that's Tao!!
He has a wonderful way to express his feelings. He does not just read, he speaks
All of the insight he shares
I have read his books for many years, but this one really touches my heart.
I was thrilled when I found this book on Audible because Wayne would be reading in his own voice, so the ideas would really feel present. I listen to this book everyday as I drive to work. It has changed how I start my day and how I interact with others. Great read; great listen!
The book has changed how I look at things. I am more of an observer which gives you more insight and understanding about what is going on around me.
I have been a fan of Wayne Dyer's for a long time. This book contains 81 verses of an ancient philosophers writings. Wayne quotes each verse and then elaborates on how to apply his teachings to your everyday life. I plan to listen to this book many times to gain deeper understanding.
LOL...this is a good anger management book. it is also good for people who have a tendacy not to think things out. this book is great in showing one to remove themselves from drama and be the listener and not the participant. just a small example of whats inside.
