    "beautiful wisdom"

A perspective rich and full of contemplation, this book points to the sacredness of simplicity while teching us gently how to love each other and ourselves more fully. It came at a good time in my life, and I'd wish that for anyone who finds it. Moore presents a literate and psychologically developed thesis. I do wish though, above all, that there was an unabridged version. The abridged oversimplifies some parts which are so much betterin their original completeness. I picked up the text recently and am finding so much more in the depths of the print version. The audio on this was easy to listen to, engaging nad never got annoying or patronizing.

"I could not get past the Peter Thomas voiceover"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I will need to listen to this again. It is likely that I have watched too much TV and heard Peter Thomas too often on NOVA and Forensic Files. His voice just kept taking me back to those programs and not into the

Would you be willing to try another book from Thomas Moore? Why or why not?

    Yes

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The Narrator is truly gifted but perhaps his voice is too well known from other work.

    "Abridged leaves so much out....."

I am taking a class and this is one of our main text books. I was traveling so thought the audio would be great to listen to on the trip. I had trouble finding the chapter I was supposed to be reading; arriving home and comparing with the text I found large portions missing from the audio. Besides this complaint, the book is fabulous! The author's approach opens our minds and therefore hearts to a loving approach towards the reality of life's challenges here on earth. This book is a must for counselors! Also for anyone wanting an understanding of inner conflicts.

    "Soulfulness Cut Short"

Soul work is hard work because it often goes neglected. We are spiritual beings as much as we are physical beings and Moore challenges us to care for the whole of our being by not neglecting the soul, the very seat of who we are internally. I enjoyed the narrator but was disappointed that the audio version of Moore's book is not the complete book. There are some important parts and chapters of his book that are simply omitted. I would have never purchased the audiobook if this was made clear in the ad, but if you have never read his book, you will be deeply satisfied by the audio version. It's more than enough to focus you on caring for your own soul. Listen and enjoy.

    "Horrible"

Absolute garbage. The problem with this book is that it try's to exert wisdom without having any knowledge, in particular knowledge of God. Here's what I mean, if you have a math equation and you try to solve it to come up with the correct answer, you need to know or consider all of the variables that go into the equation , if you don't you can't solve the equation. The soul is no different, if you refuse to take into consideration the most important variable of the soul, God then it is impossible for you to adequately resolve the equation of the soul let alone impart any true wisdom. And thus you have this book, trying to impart wisdom without having any knowledge of God, and as every one knows, wisdom consists of experience, knowledge and judgement!

    "Disappointed. Repetitive and wandering."

An interesting point would be brought up and then too much time would be spent defining the term. I couldn't bring myself to finish it. It was a recommendation from a friend so I was hoping it would be worthwhile but I am sorry I wasted 2 hours on it. I tried.
