If you want your life to be changed for the positive, this is the book you need.
I have never submitted a review for anything in my entire life. This book made me come and submit a review, just in case someone was on the fence about getting it.
There's few books that come along and grab your heart & completely alter the way you think & consider life. This is one of those books. Your going to want to skip back 30 seconds every 30 seconds. Tons of gems, & this is one I'll keep listening to month after month.

Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself is more than an instructional tool for change. Joe Dispenza has brilliantly articulated the science behind realizing long-term change through a spiritual awakening. If you've ever contemplated the scientific reality behind mediation, visualization, and positive affirmation, this is a must read. The author provides a cogent explanation of the physics that underpin our existence and ability to realize our unlimited potential, coupled with effective practices in the meditation and visualization processes.
I'm not all the way through yet. It's interesting, but annoying when he says to refer to Figure so-and-so and I don't have it. Would it be so hard to make an accompanying PDF file with the figures he says to refer to?
You are WAY too grown up (and profitable) to be NOT providing any and all charts, diagrams, pictures and supplemental material etc. for any such books that come with such mentioned items.
These are INTEGRAL to many books.
The lack of such items makes your service less valuable to your listeners, as well as your investors.
PLEASE GET ON THIS asap please.
I would recommend this book to Deepak Chopra fans, as Deepak took me along these lines many moons ago and I feel Joe can take me further.
We act our lives mainly in an automatic way, uncociously. This book can help to change the automatic mode to an awareness mode.
The habit of being yourself is extraordinary work. It goes in depth, great tone, and great flow. Must read for those into science and mysticism beautifully.

There are a million and one self-help books on the market so everyone is trying to give their brand a new spin to get readers. This author has decided to rehash the old concept of positive thought with a splash of brain plasticity and 'quantum physics' (note the quotes). It is true, and proven, that positive thought can restructure the brain to a small extent, even in adults, but this isn't enough for Mr Dispenza. Instead, he introduces a woefully flawed take on quantum physics to suggest the mind can influence external events and not just on a quantum scale, but on a macro scale, and a significant one at this. This is the exact definition of magic. His daughter, he informs us, arranged her holiday in just this way.
Quantum mechanics does not support ANY of Dispenza's assertions (you don't need to be a theoretical physicist to know this) and even if it did, the idea of macro external change through positive thought is utter bunk. Dispenza has simply tried to sciencify that appalling offering of ten years ago 'The Secret' in a hope that people are gullible enough to swallow anything as long as it has the word 'quantum' in it.
My advice is save your credits and instead of buying this snake oil salesman's wares is to get your coat on and take a walk outside. That will do you far more good than this rubbish ever could.
I really enjoyed this book it made me look at life in a way i am nut used to and that was a very positive thing
I have bought so many books on self improvement and most have been interesting and informative and some have actually hit me with a change I wasn't expecting.
I have listened to talks on youtube by Dr Dispenza and been riveted by his knowledge of the brain and it's functions, but it went no further than that. They say when the pupil is ready the teacher comes!! Wow, I was enthralled from the beginning to the end, so much of every I have inwardly inching towards, laid out for me to understand, eloquently and succinctly framed in such a that it flows.

understanding the different vibrations of the brain and when they are used. helped to understand the eefect meditation can have and also made meditation easier to do

I couldn't listen to any more after working out that his basic premise was that the observer effect within Quantum mechanics lets you "effect things with your thought". - As Richard Feynman put it: "Nature does not know what you are looking at, and she behaves the way she is going to behave whether you bother to take down the data or not." - quote from the wikipedia page.
It may well be that some of the meditation practices work just fine, but if you're going to spend a good few chapters telling me that I need to understand the Quantum physics of my brain, to then go and get it wrong when you explain it to me, I'm not going to listen to the rest of the book.
One of the best books I've ever read. Strongly recommended! Everyone should read it if they want to break their old patterns of behaviour that no longer serve them.
"Mostly pseudoscience and new age bs"
There were some interesting parts to the book but it needs to be read sceptically. Assertions of higher intelligence (zero evidence of this) and of prayer working when most studies say it's same as random chance, made this book a difficult listen. There's value in meditation and you can use the mind to heal and change, but much of what is asserted here is hard to swallow.
It's interesting but he does labour the point a little a times. It could be shorter and more precise. But it is worth reading.
