Wife, Mama, and commuter-student listening on the way to Portland and Monmouth, Oregon. Also during laundry-folding and using the treadmill.
Practical Everyday Wisdom
Learning to take ownership for yourself above all else.
The narrator's were edited poorly in my opinion, lacked a natural verbosity, and were too theatrical for their content in my opinion.
Mostly all of it. It is all great useful advice.
My only detraction from this audiobook is the narration. If they had chosen a better narrator it would have added more depth to their content.
I have been trying to figure out ways to better my marriage and get off of the roller coaster ride. The ideas presented gives me a great outline on how to be successful as a child of God, Wife and mother.
Getting a ghost writer who knows about appealing to readers or writing realistic dialogue would have helped this book a great deal. The supposed quotes from actual patients had the same stilted, jargon-filled quality as the intrusive narrative of the writers. Advice books are difficult to do well in audio format especially when graphics and text features appear with regularity.
Very helpful in learning what is healthy in a relationship and what is not. Additionally helpful in practically learning to place boundaries on oneself to remain in a healthy place. Living in freedom is worth the work.
This book was good. Interesting, well taken advice from a biblical perspective. In retrospect, I think I would have liked a hard copy of this book since I am the type a person that likes to highlight and mark books like these to use for future reference. I am sure I will listen to it again.
Family Matters Coach
As a marriage counselor I found their advice relevant and helpful. You won't be disappointed.
What a great source of information. It not only gives useful information on how to improve or maintain a marriage, but also helps to better oneself in the process. The narrator was very fun to listen to.
I enjoyed all of the characters invloved. Every one had useful tips and ways to improve upon your marriage or grow as in individual.
Listened in two sessions while painting away my frustrations on the living room walls.
If your marriage is struggling and you don't know why. Listen to the sound (biblical) advice of Drs. Cloud and Townsend. They are intelligent, down to earth, practical and straight shooting. I only WISH I'd have had this information 18 years ago!
