One of the best most encouraging self-development books I’ve read in a long time. (And that’s saying something given how many books I read!)
Zig Ziglar, need I say more?
Ok how about this: This book is a culmination of the 30day talks Zig gave for years also called Born to Win. In it he talks about all of the things needed to become successful in life. There is the classic 7-Spoked Wheel of Life as well as his phrase: You were born to win, but you must plan to win and prepare to win before you can expect to win.
Considering Zig has been an authority on personal development and success since before I was born, I’m thinking he might have a few things worth listening to. It’s probably a sign of how encouraging and impactful this book was that, as soon as it was over, I started it over again.
Not only is this book uplifting, but it also give practical actionable steps towards improving your life. For those who are just interested in business development books – READ THIS TOO! At the end of the book, there is a special chapter on how to apply all the lessons Zig talks about to business life.
This book is awesome. One of the most important factors of Zig Ziglar book is Zig himself. It would add tremendous value to this recording if you have narrated by Zig Ziglar.
Excellent Life Lessons!
There are combinations of Zig's other books and seminars - and they are all great. I'm not sure anyone under 20 would take the time to listen to this book - but if they did - they would genuinely appreciate it's lessons.
Zig's real life stories are my favorite. They will move you to Laugh Out Loud - and sometimes cry - but Zig has amazing charisma - and his life story is very real - and something we can all relate to.
If Zig can accomplish all of this - so can you!
I've listened to this more than 3 times so far. I recommend it to anyone who wants to set goals and evaluate their life.
Zig admits early on that he is getting older and chances are that this is his last book. In this book Zig passes the mantle of leadership to his son, Tom Ziglar. Zig also mentions that this book is the best of everything that he has learned over the years. It is a rehash of his previous material that is very good for new listeners or seasoned listeners that need a review. For over thirty years I have seen Zig perform live and read or listened to his books. It is unfortunate that his message over the years has become excessively Christ oriented and religious. Zig has always credited his success to his becoming a Born Again Christian. However his relationship with Christ is excessively pushed in this book. If you enjoy crediting everything that happens to you to Jesus Christ then this is the book for you. If not then skip this one and get a book from earlier in his career.
Probably. I'ts not too long or short and has some simple and easy to implement ideas that you can get started on immediately. Plus, Mr. Ziglar's ideas have proven to remain relevant and effective for a number of decades.
I really appreciated the story he told of his daughter's death and their faith in God and how it kept them grounded and focused on focusing on the positive. I hope to never know the death of my child prior to my demise, so I have significant respect for Mr. Ziglar's sharing their story and how they got through it.
While I understand Mr. Ziglar's speaking style was down-to-earth while still being dynamic, the narrator was a tad over the top in his attempt to mimic Mr. Ziglar's style.
"Success is knowing who you are, and Whose you are."
Just didn't do it for me...maybe someone brand new to Zig will enjoy it more.
I'm sad to say, perhaps Zig was just too old for this one.
I'm planning to listen to this every few months again and again to remind myself. The principles in the book not only motivate you, but they are based on truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Great book!
I love Zig. I have nothing but respect for the man and what he has accomplished. I could not get past the narration. I wish he would have just read the book and left his impressions at home Get the book instead.
Yes Great Ziglar.
