Now a beloved cantadora herself, Estes shares this treasured family tradition with you on Bedtime Stories, her own special collection of tales to relax and ease you to sleep.

I'm new this author, but I was impressed enough to buy her other works as well. This audio book is very soothing, and lush with visuals. The evenings when I listen to it I find I dream deeper and more vividly.
Ever since I was a child, I've been comforted by spoken word and stories . I love Simon Vance's narratives, Anthony Bourdain's humour.
I love her work, and looked forward to more of Dr.Estes spoken word since buying Women Who Run With The Wolves many years ago. I have The Beginners Dream Interpretation and one or two others.
This was a bit of rehash for me. Her gorgeous mellifluous voice felt very precious towards the ends...a bit contrived and I lost interest.
The narrator's voice is incredibly soothing and caring. After she encourages you to fix your favourite pillow in place and assures you that there is no judgment if you fall asleep whilst she is reading, it took me four days to listen to the entire (very short) book. The bedtime stories are not new, but they do take you back to a time when they mattered for many of us. Somewhere in between thinking that adults 'don't do this' and the alluring sense of feeling that all is okay, it is hard not to submit to sleep. Once listened to, I won't re-listen again too soon, but can't bring myself to delete the book from my library either!
This is one of my favorite audiobooks. I have listened to it every night before sleep, it makes me feel like a little girl being read to. Clarissa's voice is warm and loving. Also every night I listen I have been able to remember my dreams.
When she says "Here i'll tuck you in".
I don't think this would work as a book, it more about her voice and comfort and the act of being told stories as we go to sleep.
It has helped me to sleep and dream.
I love this program. Have listened often. To the first portions on going to bed. I fall pleasantly to sleep and dream deeply most times. I rarely get the hear the last half because it has done its goal already of putting me to sleep.
So sometimes I play it again on a Saturday morning. Satisfied by a full night sleep and stay awake to hear the wonderful stories tucked there.
I Love love Love bedtime stories!! It truly is like being a kid again listening to the soothing voice of your parent. I hve have listened to many times to count! Smile.
If your struggling to go to sleep then this is a must listen to and if your sleeping ok then this is still a good listen
"Zzzzzz - but in a very good way"
Like many people, I can find it hard to fully switch off and drift off to sleep at night. I've tried several audiobooks, with varying degrees of success down the years, however, I can heartily recommend Clarissa Pinkola Estes' book.
It's not just what she's saying, but the way she says it, that will have you dozing off within minutes.
The fact that I'm yet to actually make it through to the end of the book would be seen as damning criticism for most audiobooks, but, given what Estes sets out to achieve, it is obviously incredibly high praise.
A must-download for anyone searching for sweet dreams come bedtime.
"antidote to restless mind"
I love listening to Dr Estes, she has a warm and mystical voice. I used to avoid going to sleep until completely exhausted but with this book I am training my mind and body to prepare for sleep in a healthy way.
Lovely storytelling with the addition of some interesting information and helpful suggestions for sleep. She is a fantastic storyteller with just the right tone of voice and a pace that leads towards sleep.
"Even grown ups need a bedtime story."
Goodnight, sleep tight!
The Creative Fire by the same author, otherwise this audiobook is quite unique.
I love the way Clarissa Pinkola Estes retells familiar tales so that they sound fresh and new.
Well, it's just not that kind of book, it's designed to sooth you off to sleep, so it would be something like, "You won't stay awake long enough to see the ending."!
CPEstes has such a lovely voice and she lulls you into a dreamy state in which her reading works on a subconscious level. The only thing that spoils it is the corporate man's voice that wakes you up at the end saying, "Thank you for listening to Audible." Perhaps Audible could consider leaving this off their products designed to induce sleep.
"Bad prose, soothing voice"
Clarissa has a pleasant voice and the gentle music in the back ground is relaxing.
However I was snapped out of my relaxed state when hearing grammar errors.
I expected more.
"Perfect preparation for dreaming"
This is beautifully narrated, profound and deeply relaxing. Listening to this is a lovely restful experience
I bought this audiobook about 4 years ago, have never listened to it in one sitting, never fails to send me to sleep, but that is why I bought it,therefore I have to give it 5 stars all round.
Sends me off in a deep, calm sleep, leaving the dramas of the day behind me.
loved her voice, hated the music continuously in the background, sorry, just wasn't for me. Had this just been storytelling then yes, I could see it sending people off into a blissful slumber, but the music was so distracting, it kept me awake.
I just won't ever listen again so I'm returning it.
